The Analogue 3D has been delayed yet again

Analogue has announced that they have delayed their previous delay of the shipment date for the Analogue 3D console. The first delay, announced in July, was a result of recent tariff concerns, but this push back was not given a specific reason, citing "unexpected, uncommon" issues. Currently, the new shipping date for the hardware is Q4 2025. When it does eventually launch, the Analogue 3D aims to be an FPGA system that offers 100% compatibility with the Nintendo 64 library, offering Bluetooth controller support and HDMI output.

For that 100% compatibility, they need to add the newly discovered larger Controller Paks, that no other emulator supported before Hunter R. made this video :D

That'll probably also take some time.

They only did that with the analogue pocket right, none of their other devices.
With the Super NT and I think the Mega SG jailbreaks were quickly released (believed to be from Analogue) that allowed you to install and play cores they made for their NES (I forget what it’s called). The pocket has a separate “openfpga” that allows community cores. Pretty sure they have stated no openfpga on the 3D but I’m optimistic about being able to run other cores.

I'd assume 8bit probably has no rumble?
I use it on real hardware with the controller in Switch mode and a BlueRetro adapter. The controller rumbles perfectly and the home button on the controller toggles between memory pak and rumble pak (although that is a feature of the Blueretro adapter).

Since the N64 hardware simply doesn't support it, it doesn't offer both rumble and memory pak support at the same time.

If you get one you should update the controller firmware immediately because that makes the stick act very close to real hardware, while the factory firmware is much more inaccurate.

I don' t know if there is a bank switching shortcut too.

For what it's worth, this discovery alone could be considered an "unexpected, uncommon issue"

I own the Super NT. I also own two perfectly functional Super Famicoms. And on top of that, I also own a Super Famicom Jr. which I modded for RGB-out. "Junior" has the best video output of any SFC/SNES rendition Nintendo ever made.

And how do I play SNES? Super NT, every time.
I see... so it seems to make you feel all warm and toasty inside to use it, i guess?. Not really a practical reason provided... but ok.
I guess if you dont own a scaler, then using for it the HDMI would make sense.

No the SuperNt/MegaSg jailbreak firmwares that were released afterwards allowed roms to be loaded from the SD card but there was no support for loading different cores.

The video processing of the Super Famicom Jr is fantastic. Close if not the most perfect that pixel art in its original form, can conceivably ever look.

The MegaSg jailbreak adds a Core section in the main menu with colecovision, gamegear, and sms. It's been a while so I'm probably getting some things confused with the Pocket cores but I thought for sure all the different cores available on the NT-mini noir were available for the SuperNT and MegaSg. Maybe thats not the case.

They should've made it support more than just N64 IMO. Have different cartridge slot modules and have it support various cartridge-based systems.

That looks like something Nintendo would send their ninjas to sue em.
Nintendo has no case. It's already been established commercial emulation is legal.

man I hope this turns out good. my n64 power supply died and my expansion pack keeps f*****g up

I completely forgot about the MegaSg’s jb extra features. The SuperNt jb added rom loading (no special chip games), the Duo jb added rom loading too but no additional cores since Nt mini / Pocket. It’s not happening in the future (3D) imo.
They really fucked themselves over stating it had "100% compatibility"
Analogue know they can bs their customers (who will happily wait as long as it takes) and they bank interest on all that preorder cash while they delay.

I'm surprised this hasnt been bumped already yet. The Analogue 3D first batch preorders are shipping I think. Reviews on yt are very good except for one thing - flashcart compatibility is not good. I think this has more to do with the Analogue OS on the console than issues with any flashcart. Krikzz has tweeted that he has one on the way, so if it can be fixed on his end I'm sure he will. But if there's a jailbreak, as there has been with every other Analogue console, it probably won't matter. I'm hoping to get in on the next batch.

It's not issues with their OS no. It's conflictions with the FPGA hardware. Even though it is trying to mimic the original hardware it isnt perfect and those imperfections won't effect normal games but will effect things like flashcarts.

If a jailbreak leaks to load roms from the SD slot (which it would be suicide for Analogue if that doesn't happen) it won't matter.

Besides ... how do you know?
