there are some games that have unused 3D mode that can be restored again! So we can at least find those games.
Do you know if a list exists for what games have unused modes? I know two in mind that could maybe have scrapped code guessing
One being Fluidity Spin Cycle (Unlikely since its a tilting game and would constantly break the 3d sweet spot for old models)
And maybe M vs DK tipping stars for pop out effects with the girders etc? Long shot but im curious

Dragon Quest 8 use the 3D effect on battle records, Pocket Jockey use it partially. Alliance Alive also use it partially, when the city/town zooms out. I was able to restore it with a cheat code, but it drops the fps to 22/20. Even lower in some situations/areas, like 15.

I suspect that Snack World also had 3D effect at some point, same engine as Yo-Kai Watch, all the values that controls 3D effect on YKW are present on SW.

Hello there, fantastic thread! Have been reading through it and messing around for the past few hours, but feel like I've hit a bit of a loose end, so have bitten the bullet and made an account here to post.

I am trying to get the 3D cheats to work for the EUR version of Majora's Mask 3D. Looking through the forum, it seems like 3D codes need to be modified sometimes between regions, and according to this post

Yes, I have the EUR version, sorry :( hope it works to you.
Also, to my knowledge all the USA codes posted here worked without problems in EUR games (except for Majora's Mask, which uses JAP ones)

I would need to use JAP codes for my copy, which according to this post

After testing a handful of titles, these are my results testing Japan region titles with previously posted codes.

The following worked with no change:

Captain Toad
Zelda Ocarina of Time
Resident Evil Revelations
Super Smash Brothers
Xenoblade
Ridge Racer *(crashes in CTRPF, used Rosalina instead)

These next ones I got lucky finding the proper address based on codes posted here. Replace accordingly.

Yokai Watch 1 (Japan) - 00040000000CF400
USA: 0061F6C8
Japan: 0061B6C8

The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask (Japan) - 00040000000D6E00
USA: 00106BC8
Japan: 00106BF4

Hirari Sakura Samurai (Japan) - 000400000005AC00
USA: 002F367C
Japan: 002ED574

Metroid: Samus Returns (Japan) - 000400000005AC00
USA: 007A0A1C
Japan: 007A1A34

Finally, the following titles do not work with posted codes and for which I failed to find the correct code with my half baked approach detailed in my previous post.

Yoshi's Wooly World
Resident Evil Mercenaries
Super Mario 3D Land
Gurumin 3D
Crimson Shroud
Shovel Knight
Dead-Heat Breakers
Creeping Terror

All I would need to do is take the MM USA codes from the first post here, and change BC8 to a BF4. And finally, according to this post

Very interesting thanks! i thought the plugin was required to make it work.

So for example, for animal crossing new leaf USA, it should look like this:

/luma/titles/0004000000086300/cheats.txt

And in cheats.txt, i add the text posted as a spoiler for the game at the beginning of the thread.

Then i run the game, call the rosalina menu with L plus DOWN plus SELECT, and select the cheat, and it should appear regarding the game is from the same region as the cheat.

Is this correct?

ok just tried it anyway and it worked, SO COOOOL! Checked first on Batman Blackgate, the 3d improvements is HUGE, thanks a lot for this patches, i have to try all of them now :D

I would need to have the cheats.txt file with the copied codes in this path directory, albeit with the proper title ID for the parent folder.

What I have done is create the Title ID folder with the MM EUR title ID (0004000000125600), and in the cheats.txt file I have this pasted (you'll notice that the BC8 strings have been modified to be BF4):

[Enhance 3D Depth (Similar to OoT3D)]

D3000000 00000000
00106BF4 41900000
D2000000 00000000

[Parallax Barrier No Depth (No 3D)]
D3000000 00000000
00106BF4 00000000
D2000000 00000000

[3D Depth Default (Normal 3D)]
D3000000 00000000
00106BF4 41200000
D2000000 00000000

[3D Depth + (Deeper 3D)]
D3000000 00000000
00106BF4 41A00000
D2000000 00000000

[3D Depth ++ (Deeper 3D)]
D3000000 00000000
00106BF4 42000000
D2000000 00000000

[3D Pop Out Default (Normal 3D)]
D3000000 00000000
00181D74 42400000
D2000000 00000000

[3D Pop Out + (Closer 3D)]
D3000000 00000000
00181D74 42700000
D2000000 00000000

[3D Pop Out ++ (Closer 3D)]
D3000000 00000000
00181D74 42900000
D2000000 00000000

In game, I can open the Rosalina menu just fine, and can select each cheat code, but none of them seem to make any kind of change, even when I leave them selected and exit out of the Rosalina menu. I'll be honest and say I haven't tried absolutely every avenue available to me, but if there is something I'm missing here then any help would be much appreciated.

(Sidenote: I have the restoration patch applied as well, though I don't believe it makes much of a difference. For reference, I took the code posted here and just did the BC8 to BF4 swap, and it didn't work just like the others.)

Pretty impressed you managed to find those, I particularly struggle a lot trying to find stuff in Pokémon games because the cheat engine always freezes the game for some odd reason. I'll add this to the front page once I have time, now we need to find the 3D Pop Out Value to get a proper 3D effect in those games.

I also noticed that some values around the 3D depth one are set to 0x0 at boot, but change later while in-game. Apparently those do nothing if modified, we may need to check other parts of the game.

BTW I just remembered to post this, I found the 3D depth values for Majora's Mask 3D USA (Restoration patch):

Code:
[Enhance 3D Depth (Similar to OoT3D)]

D3000000 00000000
00106BC8 41900000
D2000000 00000000

I'll be uploading all of this info and cheat codes into GitHub as an archive, since there's a way to set the 3D enhancements globally with a single simple config modification, using luma3DS. More details soon.

Could Triforce Heroes get a parallax effect / weaker or stronger 3D codes? I could try looking in the CTRPF plugin memory tab but it’s very confusing lol

OMG! Thank you so much! I didn’t actually expect these to be made so quickly but appreciate it a lot!

I might have found a way to make running the codes through Luma more reliable

So if you add a DD000000 000000XX to the start its basically saying "If X button was pressed, toggle the 3D changes. You can map stuff like UP being normal 3D, Left/Right being enhanced values and down being parallax effect, etc.

Thanks to whoever made the MK7 code for the general idea of button toggling! It also makes these codes more generally useful
Its also theoretically possible for say a button combo toggles it like L + R
The common hex values for buttons are
ButtonHex Code
A00000001
B00000002
Select00000004
Start00000008
Right00000010
Left00000020
Up00000040
Down00000080
R00000100
L00000200
X00000400
Y00000800

@awesomeee Great work! We definitely want to distribute codes button COMBOS if these activation triggers are needed to avoid accidentally changing values during normal gameplay. D-pad Down + Select is a decent one to avoid redundancies.

Some of the guys have been working on trying to reduce pop-in of textures and models when extending the field of view with these codes. It's particularly bad in Animal Crossing and Dragon Quest VII, among others.

Dragon Quest VII - 000400000018F000 / 000400000018EF00
[Parallax Barrier with Depth +++ (Deeper 3D)]
D3000000 00000000
005CB848 42100000
D2000000 00000000

Do you have any ideas for how we can maintain the added depth without the texture pop-ins?

I have no idea lol I just tweak with the codes now that I know how to make buttons toggle the effect lol

Funnily enough I was asking ChatGPT about the hex floats and 3D values and it brang up this idea lmao, so technically not mine

Hey guys! I want to ask if the codes work on an emu like azahar. They do work well on my 3ds console, but when I apply them on emu, nothing seems to change.(๑• . •๑)

Has someone managed to make codes working for the EU version of Majora 3D ?

Also is the Title ID for Codename Steam identical for any region? searching for the EU one gave me only hshop info in which it's saying "world" instead of a specific region unlike any other game. PS. apparently same for Kirby Robobot ^^

Code Name Steam is 0004000000132500 for every region.

Not sure about Majora (EU).

I was just thinking how AMAZING it would be if the SM64 decompiled port we have on 3DS had enhanced 3D. If anyone has some time to mess with that, I'd be happy to test it!!

That would be to ask to the original repo of the 3DS port. Not really here as I'm not sure how well luma plugins works with non-commercial games, and just homebrew stuff.

Do you know where i can find the Monster Hunter XX codes? If there is none, would anyone please make them? Thanks a lot!
Here you go!

Monster Hunter XX: Double Cross (Japan, English Patched + Update v5) - 0004000000197100
[Parallax Barrier without Depth (No 3D)]
D3000000 00000000
00DC049C 473851EC
D2000000 00000000

D3000000 00000000
00DC049C 41900000
D2000000 00000000

Pushing it further causes model/texture pop-in. It's an issue with some of these codes that I HOPE someone will figure out at some point! 🙏 If anyone has any ideas on how to pinpoint that, I'd love to know.

But anyway, these work pretty well as they are. Some glitching on the side of the loading screen is the only issue I've seen.
