Sorry guys have a question: i created a bundle with the latest Atmosphere+Hekate+sigpatches and wanted to know if i could post it here or not.

@Blythe93 for help others users who have difficulty installing atmosphere.
Well, if you think it'll help, go ahead. I still think that you don't have to do that, just point them to the correct repositories/threads where to download those files.

@Blythe93 since many users get confused, download the files incorrectly, nthen have errors during startup and then they ask lots of questions,i thought it would be useful to put a complete package,as i usually do when i install Atmosphere on the Switch.

That might seem like a good idea, however users won't learn anything from that and when they need to update in the future or they face an issue they have no idea what to do because they don't know anything about their setup

A pack is great for oneshot install with no need for updates after (on older systems like the Vita / PSP and so on), but in a constantly evolving scene, learning how to do things is part of the process.

It might be tricky at times, but with manual updates you control what to do and want your system to be, free from the pack creator vision of what the system should be.

It's also a security thing, like, what if the pack gets tampered with somehow ? Always going to the source is always better for file integrity & security of the user.

In my eyes a no pack policy prevents blind updates, which the user don't know anything about since he will not dig any further than copy paste & pray that the system boots, and will eventualy fallback with questions on the forum anyway...

Asking question & learning will always be prefered, at least on my part (maybe a professional habit since I'm a dev myself, who knows).

Don't misread me, it's always a good thing that people want to be involved to make the path simpler for others, but it might no be the "right system" to do so (for the time being anyway) !

@petspeed i just asked,as long as users are lazy and don't want to get informed it will always be like this.
When i bought the Switch i didn't know anything about how to mod it,install apps, games or create cheats,i started watching videos, reading tutorials and asking here and now the initial problems are a distant memory.

If anybody is unable to read simple instructions and follow by the letter no matter what «easy» pack you give them, they will mess up and end with a problem.

That is why the great master xflak put a «I Agree» test at start of his wonderful tool and even today several years later once or twice at week someone ask on discord about not been able to run the tool because a «error» and the error is «you typed the incorrect phrase»
