Hello everyone!

I am very excited to share a project I've been working on to solve a common headache for Mac and Linux users in the scene: merging split PS4 and PS5 PKG files easily and safely.

Introducing PKGMachete v3.1.0.

While there are great CLI tools out there (massive shoutout to Tustin for the original C++ engine!), most of them are Windows-only or require tedious terminal commands. PKGMachete bridges that gap by providing a lightning-fast native C++ engine wrapped in a premium, user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI).

🌟 Key Features:

  • Full PS4 & PS5 Support: Uses a smart 2-pass algorithm to accurately read magic headers (\x7FCNT & \x7FFIH) to prevent orphaned files and corruption.
  • Premium GUI: A beautifully designed "Glassmorphism" interface—no more staring at black terminal screens.
  • 15+ Languages Built-in: Change the UI language instantly on the fly (English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese, etc.) without restarting.
  • Live Console & ETA: Features a built-in real-time log console and an advanced math algorithm that calculates your exact Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA).
  • Custom Output Paths: Flexibility to merge your PKGs directly into your external drives or custom folders.
  • Cross-Platform DNA: Built specifically for macOS (native SwiftUI + DMG installer) with full source support to easily compile on Linux.
🚀 Download & Installation: You can grab the latest version from the official GitHub repository here: https://github.com/VenezuelanBiggie24/PKGMachete

For macOS Users:

  1. Go to the "Releases" section and download PKGMachete.dmg.
  2. Open it, drag the app to your Applications folder.
  3. Important: To bypass Apple's Gatekeeper, just double-click the included .command file in the DMG to set the correct permissions automatically.
For Linux Users: The source code includes an automated bash script (build_debian.sh) to natively compile the engine and generate a .deb package in seconds.

🤝 Credits & Open Source: This project is 100% open source. The core C++ merging algorithm is based on the incredible foundational work by Tustin (Tustin/pkg-merge). I ported it to macOS/Linux and built the entire UX/UI experience around it.

I'd love for you all to try it out. If you run into any issues, feel free to open an issue on GitHub or drop a reply here. Feedback and pull requests are always welcome!

Happy gaming!
