The official MS drivers worked for me, I think I may have had to select the driver manually from the list, not sure.

a lot of chinese adapters have a weird HWID that you have to either mess with the driver inf to install or manually force install it via device manager, the one i have does this

Yes, if you manually select the driver with the "Have Disk" method, it should work.
