Any chance that the Switch 2 JoyCons and Pro Controller will be compatible with the Switch 1?

This is something that came to mind when I saw someone using the Dualsense and Dualshock 4 on the PS3.

I know that all Switch 1 accessories will be compatible with the Switch 2, but I was wondering if the other way around would be possible. I already have a Pro Controller, but the Pro Controller 2 seemed much more ergonomic, especially because of the larger buttons and not to mention the P2 input for headphones. I would love to buy it for my current Switch and PC, not to mention that I would already have a controller available when I get the Switch 2.

I would say yes, without any doubt (just not those special "features" for the Switch 2 would be available on the Switch).

I would allow it if I were Nintendo, but not the other way around. I.e. Switch Pro Controller would not be compatible with Switch 2 console.

I know it's off subject. But I bought a boot looping PS3 slim for 15 dollars with a busted bluetooth card. I tried to find a PS3 controller to use with it, but lost all of mine. I was shocked that PS4 controllers worked with PS3, was able to fix the boot loop, and use the console wired.

Being able to use new controllers on old consoles is nice.

Yeah, that's one of my favorite things about the PS3.

You can use the Dualshock 4 just fine, it will even work with the motion sensor/syxasis, rumble and the Home/PS button.

The DualSense will also work but unfortunately the Home/PS button and the gyro/motion sensor won't work, but you can play most games just fine.

I was wondering this exact question but the other way around. Can I use a Switch 1 Pro Controller on the Switch 2? And is the only way to use GameChat by pressing the C button??

Pro controller might, Joy-Cons nope. They are very different.
Joy-Cons can be used by pairing wirelessly to Nintendo Switch 2.

Nevermind, read it the wrong way. :D Yeah, it would be nice if they worked (I don't see a reason for them not to work, maybe via MissionControl?) but remains to be seen. Once Switch 2 is out, they won't care as much for the Switch 1.

They do work wirelessly though, right ?
