e.g.
Mario & Luigi RPG3, soma bringer (original & translation rom)need turn off card read DMA, otherwise will be bugs&red screen.
chrono trigger, super robot wars og saga only use DSI mode.
(these games are fine in 27.5.0)
(Mario & Luigi RPG3 seems also need turn off card read DMA in 27.5.0 , sorry I don't remember)
Mario & Luigi RPG3 (Bowser's Inside Story) is known to crash in certain areas (ex. when Peach throws Bowser out of the castle at the start of the game, and loading save data). Turning off card read DMA has never fixed that, iirc. Prior versions of nds-bootstrap would show a red screen, but later versions restart the game instead.
Chrono Trigger works fine for me with DS mode on the latest version. Do you have cheats enabled?

If it's an issue with just start Mario & Luigi RPG3, it seems that it can be solved by turn off card read DMA, sorry I only played the beginning.
I don't like to cheat when playing games, ^_^no cheat.
(27.13.2, DSi SD card)Chrono Trigger press Y button , SDK version is not displayed, just TID, I think it's only working in DSI mode.

I tested with a new SD card(FAT32,32KB)&update package on github(DS-Homebrew/TWiLightMenu), SD card format confirmation is no problem.
Please try re-installing TWiLight Menu++ by following the uninstall and install links above.
If the issues persist, then your ROMs might be corrupted.

That's what I'm talking about:bow:.
The new version cannot play Chinese translation rom( ROMs might be corrupted).
Older versions can boot these problematic ROMs.

So the games you mentioned are all Chinese-translated then?
Please post a link to the patches (not the ROMs themselves).

yes, Chinese-translated.
Due to their age, there are only translated ROMs on the Internet.
Maybe it can be reversed, I don't know anything about that.
.
I feel like the 27.5.0 version is pretty good as well:lol:

Anyone else get a black screen error for
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon? I get it after the bat on the second floor repeatedly.

Try turning off card read DMA then. In TWLMenu++, press the Y button, and scroll down to turn off said setting.
I’ll try and report back! Thanks

Appear to still get the black screen when I die. Music continues to play

Next version of nds-bootstrap will change the included AP-patch to the one from this cheat database. Hopefully it'll be fixed then.
Yes I think AP patch is the factor as I tested the game on delta using my phone and had no black screen. Sounds good cool ! Thanks

EDIT. I think the issue is that the AP Patch does not apply to the English patched rom correctly actually
