Bois, we had Win 98 and friggin ULTIMA ONLINE and there was little to much else honestly needed for a proper grand time!

I don't remember having any problems connecting with the old Windows 95, and later Windows 98 computers at home.
Other than having pre-paid services, I really can't complain as I wasn't using it for other services than information for school and whatnot.
If I couldn't find the required information for a project in the vast catalog of encyclopedias I owned, it was Internet time.

It became tedious around the age of Windows 7, when companies began to offer Internet services monthly.
Demand made providers... provide awful service quality just to meet demand.
Still happening today.

Are you guys old enough to have known about "internet free trials"? And I'm not talking about the free trials you can find online. No, no, no. I'm talking about free trial of internet itself.
I remember back then, we did try internet with AOL (which doesn't exist anymore here). They had this 3 months free trial back then. I still remember about their yellow CD to "install internet on your computer", and the big warning to not use your landline phone when using internet

Hell, I remember these. Not the internet free trials one, but we did have those type of CDs you could get in magazine or cereal boxes.
I remember one of them particularly

It was a learning game for childs (some logic puzzles, basic maths opertion, etc.)
As you can see, there are 10 "levels", but you could only unlocked them one at a time with these cd-rom (so you had to "convice" your parents to buy the magazine/cereal box)
