Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition Graphics Settings

After small edit of executable game allows loading graphics settings file outside of ard/arh archive.

Download correct package for your game and version:
  • TID: 0100453019AA8000
    • Version 1.0.1 - "XCX_Settings_1.0.1-fix.zip"
Put "atmosphere" folder to root of your sdcard. File you want edit is "lib_nx.ini" in atmosphere/contents/*TID*/shader/monolib/
This file stores default settings. This thread should focus on figuring out the best settings out there.

And what we know about each setting:
Code:
red_Auto - disable/enable Dynamic Resolution.

WARNING
If you want to remove mod, you must remove IPS patch. If you will remove only ini file, you will get broken visuals.

EDIT 20.03.2025 21:20 GMT: Reuploaded package with correct lib_nx.ini file, the other one was not used by game and had wrong settings. The new package has suffix "-fix".

Thanks I got this working on emu out of the box without moving the ips file around like post #8.

I feel like this game has been optimized very well that changing the setting hardly change anything. Turning off AA basically makes no difference, turning off dynamic resolution only effect distance views with very little difference in blurriness. I ran this at 2x resolution and everything is sharp and clean.

OLED RAM is pretty versatile depending on what type you have.

Read this for established safe values, you’re holding yourself back for no reason.

I dabbled in RAM OC a while ago and had a hard crash, so i stopped bothering. Did not know about this one, and noticed my OLED has the C tier one lol. That sure explains it all.

I tried, I increased the FPS up to 60 and disabled the Windows Sync wait.Obviously the switch is overclocked.
Connect Switch to Internet, open game, wait for game to appear, go to FPSLocker, Advanced settings, "Check/Download config file", when menu will refresh "Convert config to patch", restart game.

There is also an issue with double buffer, either deal with it or disable Window Sync in Advanced Settings at the cost of graphical artifacts in menus.

to apply this to citron I'd only need to paste the atmosphere folder on the sdmc folder right?
and is there any setting that could be used to remove/minimize shimmering?

Ok, done, created the patch successfully, restarted the game, but it doesn't apply it 🥲

I just set

blur=on to off
blurStr=0.2 to 0.0
blurSub=0.05 to 0.0

but the motion blur is still there. Any other settings need to be tweak?
