Will the Switch 2 be Nintendo's first unhackable console?

Do you think the Switch 2 will be unhackable?

I homebrewed a DSi once because I was a fool and accidentally uninstalled Flipnote Studio which was impossible to get back through normal means.

There are genuinely legit reasons for homebrew that do not include piracy. Another reason can be game preservation by ROM dumping which is not illegal.
I used hacked Switch to do cheating and inject other's save, so I'm not interested in piracy.

Every Nintendo Console released in the 21st century were hacked in their lifespan. I think it's a lock by year 3 at the latest.
Rumor the swtich 2, will have denuvo hard coded into chip.
The Xbox One hasn't been hacked because whats the point?

Don't delude yourself into thinking this.

The first Switch only ever got hacked due to a fault in nVIDIA's chips. The modchips are all based on recreating that fault.

Unless a fault like this happens on Switch 2, a hack won't exist if the rumours are true and Nintendo will use HorizonOS.

The older consoles got hacked because Nintendo was absolutely incompetent in security and exploit protection and so the firmware of them had more exploitable holes than Swiss cheese.

Well there was software hacks for it, just not released at the time. The opensource community just opened up about the hack so Team Xecuter didn't get the credit for finding the bug.

Actually that's true, forgot about that HorizonOS 4.0.1 softmod

The Switch is already extremely secure. It's only known vulnerability is voltage fault injection. It's safe to assume Nintendo will require Nvidia to secure their Switch 2 chip against this. Nintendo is porting Horizon OS to the Switch 2.

How might the Switch 2 get hacked? Nintendo made some mistakes porting Horizon. Another form of fault injection is used. Nvidia has more security flaws in their chips. A yet undiscovered security glitch.

I'm buying a launch Switch 2 and keeping it locked down for a few years but am taking a risk by doing so. It may end up remaining unhackable and just lose resale value after the hypothetical Switch 2 OLED comes out.
I mean you never refer to a console as "Unhackable" Sony did that with the PS3 and it jump-started the homebrew community. But realistically if they stick with Horizon like it's chances of software are extremely thin. I wouldn't be shocked if we end up with a situation similar to the 360 where it ends up being almost completely limited to hardmods.

Of course, I know all that.
Still, 99,9% hack their consoles for piracy.
Yeah this is the big thing I think. Remember most actual hackers the ones discovering and taking advantage of these exploits just want 1 thing. They want the ability to run homebrew. This is the entire reason why the hacking scene on the Xbox One has been almost completely stagnant. They literally just gave people their own environment to do it.

Nintendo's security glitches are easy to forget because they weren't written to read-only memory. There was little point to using them when a buffer overflow exploit then later a voltage fault injection exploit were widely available.

Most people hack their consoles for piracy but 99.9% is an exaggeration. Between overclocking, emulation, cheats and save-editing there are other reasons to do so. Emulation is a more relevant point on the Switch because of its hybrid nature. I'm excited for overclocking on the Switch 2 and if the next Zelda is as grindy as Tears of the Kingdom then cheats too. Piracy is a nice bonus for me.

I be sure to buy if it'll be hacked. and be sure to not if it will be not.

Hacked switch is almost as good and much younger steam deck. hacked switch 2 will be better than steamdeck in many areas. Until steamdeck 2 comes out and then...

100% will be getting a hardmod for homebrew. Luckily for me I can solder so I'll be fine.

I'm part of the 99.99% I'm the reason Princess Peach game failed

Don’t talk about hacking the switch 2 until it comes out so Nintendo doesn’t make last miniute changes

Nothing is unhackable. So it will get hacked. May take days or years to hack. just a matter of is it worth it.

The Xbox One hasn't been hacked because whats the point? it has zero exclusives on it. just pirate the games on a PC. Wasn't worth the trouble to hack.
Microsoft also provided dev mode so easy access to homebrew, might just take the same time for the switch to be hacked for the switch 2 to get an exploit

I think one of the main drivers for Nintendo systems being hacked is Pokemon. The demand for editing Pokemon locally, and the hacking and modding scene for pokemon is extremely active. There has never been a Nintendo system with a main line pokemon game on it that hasn't been hacked. So it's just a matter of time after it releases. I honestly can't imagine not being able to extract my save and edit my pokemon with pkhex. No other game has the type of fanbase Pokemon has with that amount of people that want to edit their pokemon. People will be like rabid wild animals trying to crack their systems open once a main line Pokemon game is released for it.
