Will the Switch 2 be Nintendo's first unhackable console?

Do you think the Switch 2 will be unhackable?

The Switch is already extremely secure. It's only known vulnerability is voltage fault injection. It's safe to assume Nintendo will require Nvidia to secure their Switch 2 chip against this. Nintendo is porting Horizon OS to the Switch 2.

How might the Switch 2 get hacked? Nintendo made some mistakes porting Horizon. Another form of fault injection is used. Nvidia has more security flaws in their chips. A yet undiscovered security glitch.

I'm buying a launch Switch 2 and keeping it locked down for a few years but am taking a risk by doing so. It may end up remaining unhackable and just lose resale value after the hypothetical Switch 2 OLED comes out.

I'm sure that some groups will hack it, but not via any software means.
Nintendo have done well with the Switch's security and only hardened it during the years it's been out.
Considering Switch 2 is going to be using the same HOS, we're probably not getting any new software vulns out of it.

That being said, if it's hackable via hardware then the real question is whether it will be cost-effective for normal users to do so. If N have made it sufficiently annoying enough to hardmod (either through space constraints or hiding necessary pads) then it may end up being a novelty only for folks RE-ing it and less for end-users to poke around with.

Nothing is unhackable. So it will get hacked. May take days or years to hack. just a matter of is it worth it.

The Xbox One hasn't been hacked because whats the point? it has zero exclusives on it. just pirate the games on a PC. Wasn't worth the trouble to hack.

Was this confirmed at all? I'm so fucking hoping it won't use HorizonOS, not only due to the exploits but also because I'm tired of the bland mess it is.

What is made by man, can be unmade by man
Then how come we still don't have any softmod for patched units or even coldboot for the unpatched ones?

I hope people aren't just hacking their consoles just to pirate stuff.

This is what I keep hearing but I don't know what the source is. I'll be glad if it turns out to be a false rumor.
It's been touched on a handful of times in the RS Discord from a few folks including Antares.

pah yer right nintAPPLE are cheap fucks they won't pay to use denuvo! i predict within 6 months it will be hacked since it's just a switch pro
I know this is most likely a joke but I also doubt that they're going to pay the insane license fees for Denuvo, especially considering the recent cost-cutting measures like axing 80% of their loyalty program.

99,9% are
I homebrewed a DSi once because I was a fool and accidentally uninstalled Flipnote Studio which was impossible to get back through normal means.

There are genuinely legit reasons for homebrew that do not include piracy. Another reason can be game preservation by ROM dumping which is not illegal.

Of course, I know all that.
Still, 99,9% hack their consoles for piracy.
