Hey, i want to attempt modding the switch lite with a picofly modchip. I am however unsure of what tools i need to do this and whether or not this is feasible for someone who doesn't have any experience with soldering besides soldering a few wires together.

Currently i have a cheap soldering iron which temperature can be set to approximately 330c and above. Is a more advanced soldering iron with better temperature control required?
I have seen some people suggest that a microscope is needed. Is this true and would a magnifying glass be enough?
Since i don't really have any experience with soldering i will need to practice before doing the actual installation. What would be the best way to do this? Should i use a practice board from Aliexpress and in that case which type?

If anyone could help me with these questions it would be greatly appreciated

Looking for guide to remove all traces of sxos. Was given a switch that I believe is not not patched or updated from very old firmware. I'm not familiar with much switch hacking. Any help would be appreciated

Hi guys, I have 2 basic questions. I have a modded brand-new switch lite which I haven't done anything on yet. Basically, I'm at the 'No SD Card' screen for PicoFly. Anyway, since it's brand new the OFW is at v12.0.0 so it's really old. Can I update OFW normally before setting up my SD card with atmosphere and etc. ?

Also, should I download a free game from nintendo eshop for title takeover?

I'd appreaciate any help. Thanks.

Yes, it is. I'm the first owner of the device. Only got professional help for the chip installation, didn't touch anything on software side yet because I just wanted to ask here first before doing anything to prevent a potential ban.

If you want to play online on ofw then create an emunand for your homebrew and pirated games. Use Nintendo server to do OFW update, and do a NAND backup with Hekate.

As for what to do for title override, use album in emunand to enter applet mode and install the homebrew menu nsp, it is out there look for it. Don't install any nsp on your sysnand as it share nand with ofw

You can probably just wait it out, when you get the sd card , h2testw the card, you need the sd card for hekate to do a full nand backup.

If not, should install the Atmosphere for v12.0.0 since that's preinstalled out of the box. I got a bit confused because the device doesn't even have a Nintendo account yet and switch.hacks.guide says you will need a free game for the title take over.

You don't need to download an eshop game to use title override, you can use album to launch applet mode so you can get access to homebrew, what you want to do is install the homebrew menu nsp that is out there so it allow you to launch the homebrew menu in full ram mode, you could also use applet mode to install a game and then use that game to title override but it is kinda obsolete when you can just install homebrew menu nsp.

Backup the Japanese one, inject it to the USA save

So iv got this switch that was setup with emunand booting from hecate, but I now need to upgrade it.
Its on system 14.1.2 and ams 1.3.2E.

What would the steps be to make sure I do not corrupt the nand and do this the easiest way? It was installed with clean nand in its day.
