Grocery prices will, in fact, be going up. A ton of coffee brands are expected to go up at least 50% within the next week for that matter, as Trump has today enacted 50% tariffs on Columbia for a very stupid reason. He also already repealed a law to make pharmaceutical drugs cheaper some time back.

Wow all columbian coffee, it must be THE ONLY coffee in the whole world. You do know there are so many coffee brands out there where columbia is not their only source. cWhat is fearm mongering like a product is sourced in only one location. Most coffee shops I know do not even stock coffee from columbia, sure that is in Australia but most of the shops just shift to another supplier, I mean have youheard a shop relied on a single source of coffee?

Like I said, the tariffs were enacted for a very stupid reason. Columbia was never against accepting the immigrants, they simply objected to the immigrants being treated as prisoners and being flown in on military planes. Last known info is that he plans to enact the tariffs regardless.

The "White House" issued a statement that they'll be holding off on tariffs a little bit after my previous post. With the wording of the statement it's obvious it didn't come from Trump himself, seems someone with a little more sense took away the keys for the moment.

Anyway, this leaves a window of opportunity for Columbia to do business deals with other countries as well. And the guy may do so, just to spite Trump.

It's good that Trump won, it's reveals to us all the true state of society and the system of governance. I'd expect things to get worse in the decades ahead, people as evil as Trump but who can actually get their evil plans done, and the system adjusts to protect itself from it happening again. Perhaps even a one party system one day.

I think it may have been the threat of retaliatory tariffs that scared the government as much as anything, Colombia imports a ton of petroleum products from the US.
