I'm not sure about how World News, Current Events & Politics looked like in 2002-2004. It was time when 80s babies become teen and adult with Gen X and some baby boomers in circle. Iraq War was one of contentious issue that led to anti-war protests that haven't seen since last one was in 1970s during Vietnam War - @AncientBoi may remember that and internet wasn't around in 1970s.

Damage control at best, honestly. They wouldn't outright accuse Musk for such a thing because it's in their best interest to be in the good side of the government, considering Musk is very close to it and he could shut down their voice, at any whim.

I would rather believe what history has shown constantly, woth the amount of documentaries you can read/watch and the people themselves (German, Jews, Afrikaans, etc) that know their own culture best.

The gesture is identical and plenty of far-right extremists have recognized it and even applauded Musk. If someone does a middle finger at you, you wouldn't say that he's saying a hello.

As I reiterate, the gesture is clear as night and day. But I'm not saying that Musk is antisemetic, his intent is highly likely not related to antisemetic/white supremacy views. He's most likely a troll or careless of his actions or maybe a little bit of both.
