I am thinking to buy an SDXC card but I am not sure if Wii Swiss Booter is compatible with these cards.
Does anyone know?
The googlecode page says it's compatible with up to 32gb (SDHC size limit) but I had heard that SDXC were just the same thing with a different name since the official specification for SDHC was to 32gb. I think they just upped the size limit and changed the name with the SDXC spec.

You could always try it and see if you have one (I don't :() and while your at it try it out with DML, too. I've been curious about both myself.

Edit : anyone else want to try one and report back?

Edit 2 : I made this thread to see if anyone could do the test (and thanks to [member='Hunter X'] for actually doing it.) but at least on the system menu's SD menu it does not recognize SDXC cards even when formatted to FAT32 like an SDHC card. I don't know about Swiss or DML yet but at least that's what we know so far.

It is too expensive to afford right now.I guess that we have to wait until someone tries to use one with the Wii.

When I was trying to calm myself from the frustration of failing at the HBF icon, I made a few Swiss Booter icons:
SwissBooter1.png

SwissBooter2.png

Since these were just to calm my nerves, I didn't put too much work into them. If you are interested and have any requests/suggestions, let me know and I'll work on other versions. I'll need to finish the HBF icon first though.

Anyone have a working link for these? Having a hard time finding Wii Swiss Booter duders.

Stanks

Hi WiiPower, I made this HBC-icon (PNG with alpha channel) for Swiss Booter. I think it turned out really well. WiiPower, you can use this in the zip file! :)

new fork: v1.0
i got tired of this program being arse to use so i forked it and it is now maintained 👍
it shows any errors and tells you where it loaded swiss from
you can download v1.0 from the github repo (to be posted in 10h if no problems are reported 2024/11/22 cos i have a couple things to add and got ill)
the code is refactored and polished, but the original logic was rock-solid so is unchanged
it's also very simple code so a nice project for beginner coders to look at i think
swiss is the best loader for gamecube games so i won't accept being told to not use it :P

i included this Pog

i am also considering how to include this 480p fix mod but i cannot tell the difference well enuff to test the 480p fix out. v1.0 will fix it by virtue of initialising video with new libogc, but the modder said this doesn't always work. but i really don't wanna include an extra i2c module to set a register like the modder did, so if it is actually needed, libogc should expose __VISetOverSampling

edit: had to remove links to get forum to accept post. look up pyorot and ribshark wii swiss booter on github.

v1.1 is released
alongside an interim cMIOS that has swiss r1788 installed into it. the reason for this is that loading swiss from a file requires exploiting stale memory, which gets corrupted on older wii hardware revisions, making swiss fail to boot most of the time (now that it uses compressed Dols; uncompressed ones boot but with slight code corruption here and there)

now with the swiss cmios installed, one can hold Y during wii swiss booter v1.1 and it will direct-boot the cmios and enter the installed version of swiss. one may also just boot a gamecube disc from system menu or priiloader while holding Y and start swiss that way (no removable drive required, tho it does spin up the drive unnecessarily). if you don’t hold Y then wii swiss booter works the same as in v1.0

extrems has also released a wii booter with swiss installed into it in the latest swiss releases. this relies on the stale memory method so is still unreliable, but if your wii has a newer hardware revision, you may find it more convenient than using wii swiss booter with a file

downloadable from pyorot github as before (i still can’t post links lmao)
