The PS5 doesn't have much in the way of aesthetics and the Steam Deck's interface is only really customizable insofar as you install CSS Loader (not made by valve) to customize it- which just makes it similar to the Switch in that customization is only possible through third party means. Official customization isn't real on the Deck outside of those digital keyboards and start up animations. If they can't build an OS or at least a plugin that allows for basic themes without compromising the security of the system wholesale, then they need to be hiring fewer lawyers and more software engineers.
Besides, that absolutely should not be their top priority, all their best-selling systems have been easy to exploit/emulate. Presentation allows you to differentiate yourself from the competition, and people loved stuff like the Wii home menu. As-is, both the PS5 and certainly the Steam Deck have far superior interfaces.
Also, comparing the Switch to those other 2 is unfair. The PS5 has hardly been jailbroken to the extent the Switch has, and you don't need to jailbreak a Linux PC- if anything you need to Jailkeep it as it's super easy to break a Linux system if you mess around with the wrong files.
also, feels a bit weird to say "all the best selling systems are easily hackable" as an argument against the 140m+ selling Switch.

Maybe they'll hit 95 or 100 million instead of 140, but they're still gonna be successful.
