I have a drive with about 500 files on it. The problem isn't bulk installing, it's that marking a file takes 20 seconds during which the installer is frozen and the initial load takes a good minute (also frozen on the main menu).

Explain the random crashes. As an example a person could load up a list of 20 files to install. TinWoo installs the first 10 but crashes on the 11th. The person then deletes those 10 from their Switch and tries again with the exact same 20 files in the exact same order. This time TinWoo crashes on the 5th transfer instead of the 10th. Repeat the process and it could fail on the 2nd, 5th, 19th, etc. The crashing is random even when using the exact same install list. Why? If you read through that github page, the dev did put a longer time out value in one version but it didn't seem like it helped anything at all. Also, the precise error messages that were reported there were never explained or discussed. It seemed to just be "It's your USB ports!", but I don't believe that it's a persons USB ports or as stated, other installers would also have the same issues.

No need to be combative. I've explained why I have issues with it. As far as crashes go, Tinfoil is by far the worst in my experience.

I wasn't being combative. I was trying to explain more clearly and asking for your thoughts on why the crashing is random if it's due to some time out issue. :) If it was because of that, I would think it would fail at the same time when re-trying the same list of files, but it doesn't.

got this issue after a botw failed install, i’ve tried dbi tools to clean incomplete files, but it didn’t work 😔

I would like to initialize my console and start the modding process over again because nothing is working on 19.0.1... When I attempt to initialize it says "You do not have permission to view the information on this nintendo account." Is there a way i can do this manually without the nintendo servers?
What exactly isn't working?
Is it bannable to play a game that's legitimately downloaded, but owned by a user which has a changed password and not logged in? I wasn't able to open this game before. Since testing sigpatches and syspatches, I'm able to open this game even after disabling and even fully deleting any patches. I havent connected to wifi. Anyone know what might be causing this behavior?
Even though you deleted the patches, you may have installed a fake ticket that allows you to play the game so I wouldn't risk it.
I have an RCMed switch with EMUNAND. The OFW hasn't been updated on a while.

Getting out of rcm mode and updating sysNAND to latest won't break my EMUNAND right?
One of the purposes of sysMMC is to be on a different firmware than emuMMC.

Merry Christmas, all.
A few questions:

-I have an unpatched v1 but getting annoyed with using rcm. If I install a modchip, will that mess with anything in the system or do I just have to rename hekate to payload.bin and it's like it never happened?

-DBI is fubar'd, whether it's mtp or backend. Tried reinstalling drivers with zadig but the upload always stalls out. Tinwoo was recently updated and works really well. Is there something I'm missing for dbi or should I just give up?

If you install a modchip this doesn't mess anything with the system. With an unpatched V1 Switch, a chip isn't necessary, that is if you want to install one.

The Instinct NX needs to have a payload named "payload.bin" on the root of the SD card for it to work. So, for example, Hekake as "hekake.bin" should be renamed to "payload.bin". An RCM device can have any payload injected through USB or on the RCM device if you're using an RCM Loader.

Let's see... you are owning an unpatched v1 but are itching to install a modchip? If you have the skill to do so, why not just sell your unpatched on ebay? They sell for a nice price, I hear, and you could probably buy an Oled with the money and then install a modchip in it. So a free upgrade, basically.

DBI works fine on my side, both backend and mtp. It's updated very often, so maybe try the latest version or an older one.

Hello! I just got a Switch Lite for Christmas, and it's my understanding that I need a Picofly Lite for it.

The problem I know have is that I have 0 experience in soldering at all, does anyone have any recommendations for sending it to someone so I can pay them to install it for me?

I figured out how to do this.

Every tutorial I found said to simply upload the .zip of the dream island/ backup island with JKSV into the device save section in ACNH. But this will not work or at least it would not for me no mater what I tried.

HOW TO USE DREAM ISLANDS/BACK UP FILES WITH JKSV - ACNH

If you are starting a fresh Island/ have no save file on your Switch, you need to play through to when you get your nook phone and can save the game.

Save your game and log off. Back up this save with (JKSV, Device - ACNH, - backup) and extract it to your computer. Make a copy as you will be overwriting this file.

Open the main.dat file of your fresh save island into NHSE, then open the main.dat dream island/backup of the other island you want in NHSE as well. (two instances)

Save/dump all of the files, acres, items, buildings, and if you want designs, flags, villagers etc. FROM the dream island/backup

Import all of these files into your fresh island save, acres, items, building locations, flags, designs etc.
I find you have to do the acres size first or your get an error that the acres do not match with uploading other files.
Save your fresh Island save as which ever you want, and then .zip the Villager0, etc. folder, the landname.dat, main.dat, and the mainHeader.dat into a .zip.

Upload this to your JKSV folder. GO to JKSV, I have been told it works in applet mode, but I have had issues with it crashing so i use full ram mode, or whatever its called (hold R when opening a app or game and it will launch hbrew)

Restore your newly made file with JKSV into: Device - ACNH

If there are other tutorials on this, I could not find them at all so hope this helps anyone.
Hello, I am brand new here. I am having trouble with ACNH restore files. I have refreshed my switch (a V1), made sure, atmosphere, HB, bootloader etc is fresh and updated. backed up my NAND, did an emummc generation and am running emummc cfw. I installed JKSV, loaded up my restore files/ island files that I want to load into the JKSV file folder.

I made a new user file, launched ACNH to get the save file to appear in JKSV.

Closed ACNH, went to JKSV in full ram mode. (though i read this should work in applet mode as well), scrolled to ACNH on the Device tab, located the restore file, hit restore, waited.
Closed down JKSV, launched ACNH and it will not load the save file I restored.
It continues to act as if its brand new and theres no save file and wants me to start again.

Am I missing a step here? I did read somewhere that you have to change the Island/playerID to match the profile save, but this was an old post and I could not find a way to even do this.

Any help would be wonderful, thank you in advanced.:D

My emuMMC is no longer booting after updating to firmware 19.0.0 with Daybreak (using FAT32, not exFAT + FAT32) and Atmosphère 1.8.0 right after. emuMMC shows a black screen as soon as clicking the option in hekate (no Atmosphère or Nintendo Switch logo) but sysMMC without Atmosphère works completely fine. I have made sure all of my sigpatches and installed Sysmodules are updated as all of them had updates for 19.0.0. I've tried deleteing most of the atmosphere folder, deleting all the Sysmodules, kip_patches, exefs_patches, but nothing works. Can anyone help me?

Fixed it, turns out I had this line in my hekate_ipl.ini: kip1=atmosphere/kips/loader.kip under the CFW emuMMC profile and was the cause of the problem. Going to leave this up in case someone has the same issue and could benefit from this.

I have a launch version switch and status monitor would regularly show SOC temps in the mid 50's to low 60's in games like doom. I haven't opened it or changed anything recently except I updated atmosphere, sysclk and status monitor and various apps. It seems like it runs WAY cooler now. Generally in the mid 40's to occasional 50. Same games, same everything else. MY question is why. Have recent updates implemented some way of keeping the numbers down or are they inaccurate now? The only other guess I have is that I played a lot more than usual recently and it burnt off or spit out some of the tiny bits of dust that collected in there over time without use and and that dust was making it run hot. Even full (suggested) sysclk overclock I still don't hit temps as high as I used to without any overclock.

SIde question: I also have an unmodified switch (patched) and it has actually shut off from over heating before. Can't remember if only once or twice. But it shut off playing Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Maybe my house is just disgusting and dusty lol. Because I am in a different place now with the same air temp but this place is less dusty I think.

I modded my Switch some time ago on FW 15.0.0 and installed Atmosphere 1.4.1 incl. Tinfoil, etc. on emuNAND. Forgot about it, got my Switch banned some time later, never understood why.

Anyway, I recently picked it up again, still on 15.0.0/AMS 1.4.1, but decided to upgrade to AMS 1.8 so I could use the latest version of Mission Control and make use of my old PS3-controllers (great work!). This worked fine, but it also broke my Tinfoil, cutting me off from any game-updates. I tried to install new "Sigpatches" . Don't know what they are, but they seem required for Tinfoil. Whatever I try, tinfoil keeps throwing errors. I also tried the Tinfoil-applet-version. This one seems to work ok, but I cannot get it working from the menu.

Do I need to also upgrade my firmware to 19.0.0? I hesitate: could it break even more, increasing this challenge? Thanks for any reply!

SOlVED: I uninstalled Tinfoil, but for some reason the self-installer for reinstalling doesn't seem to work in my case. After some research I downloaded the tinfoil-NSP, copied it to my SD card and installed it with the Awoo-installer.

In theory, because only big N really knows, if you are playing that "backup" game online while somebody else is playing that original game online, you both can be banned. Not to mention its just morally wrong to do.

You'd be moving into the space where all the "piracy is not theft" talk is null and void, because you are actively screwing someone else over (but also yourself). It's not quite known if this earns you both a console ban or just a certificate/online ban on that game, but Nintendo definitely does know. Just mod your Switch and buy games you want to play online like a normal person.

I picked up two switches and my first switch has had driver problems for a while now.

Hekate USB mode for SD card says "Starting UMS". Zadig reports it as "UMS" "Usbstor" and either ejects or connects as usb, mounts it as a drive, but transferring files fails/crashes. After a few minutes, it ejects when idle. In device manager, it says "hekate sd raw usb device" under disk drives. How can I fix this, please?

I'm also having problems with DBI. Transfers start but stall after a few minutes.

Also having an issue with usb file transfer in the hbmenu apps, it just reports "libusbk usb devices -> DBI" in the device manager.

I can't use a file explorer at all. How can I fix this issue? This only happens on one switch, the other two are fine. Could it be the micro sd card going bad? This one is using syscfw while the other two are emumcc.

My user file on my emummc stopped working and when i launched it the nintendo message popped up saying that user didnt match previous ones so cant use my files or play my games i backed up. I think i might of accidentally delete prodinfo in nxnand manager but idk. maybe i can restore with my keys i backed up? thanks for the help
