Ryujinx emulator taken down after devs reach agreement with Nintendo

In what could possibly be the worst way to start October for emulation enthusiasts, as of just a few minutes ago the Ryujinx repository appears to be down, with the usual "404" message being given when trying to enter any of their related GitHub pages. Not even the main Ryujinx developer account seems to be active.

Currently there hasn't been any official reports as to why this occurred. None of the official social media accounts for the emulator have given any response, nor has any of the developers talked about why the repository is down, but we'll be sure to keep you updated whenever any new developments towards this situation are known.

UPDATE #1: Given the nature of the page being down with a 404 message, it's possible that this could be related to the removal of the Ryujinx account, and not a DMCA. If the repository suffered from a DMCA claim, then the DMCA notice would appear when entering the repository. However, that is not the case, and the DMCA listings from GitHub doesn't have any recent entries for Ryujinx.

UPDATE #2: The Ryujinx Discord server has paused invites for the moment, and additionally, one of the Discord mods posted the following message:
"To clarify, it's not a DMCA, it's not an issue with GitHub. Please wait for further information and refrain from spreading misinfo thanks."

UPDATE #3: According to an official statement on Ryujinx's Discord server, developer gdkchan was contacted by Nintendo and they were offered an agreement to stop working on the emulator project, and while the agreement wasn't confirmed yet, the organization has been entirely removed.

UPDATE #4: According to other devs, the developer was not only contacted, but actually tracked down by Nintendo to his location, and pressured to developer to cease and abandon development altogether for the emulator.

This marks now the 2nd and only main remaining Switch emulator that Nintendo has taken down as of today, and without any proper and clear protection when it comes to emulation and preservation down the road, it's likely that Nintendo will continue on its efforts to bring down emulation as a whole.

If he got money then he made a good deal since the switch is kinda dead anyway. Don’t think we will have any problem emulating the few games that are left on Nins release list.

I am hoping now more development will happen on the Yuzu Sudachi fork. Faster then Ryujink.

Haha, joke's on you, I have Windows 10 Pro, and have Windows Update disabled via Group Policy. Never gonna update again. 22H2 is my final Windows version. Don't fix what ain't broke and all that.
Not updating security patches is a terrible idea. If it’s just about not wanting to deal with how MS is ruining Windows, maybe consider switching to Linux. You won’t have to deal with MS and you can still keep your shit updated

Talking about that, I'm been thinking about switching from Ryu for a while now, and with this I think that's pretty much a must now, so I am wondering which one is the most recommended Yuzu fork at the moment, Suyu or Sudachi?

Yeah especially with all those massive exploits that have been being discovered these past few months. I mean we have had 2 Remote ACE exploits this year.

Well, I mean, there's no way that posting your public information widely on the Internet for Nintendo to latch onto can go wrong in any way, right?

Only a matter of time before Sudachi goes down too. Honestly: When the FUCK will people learn!?
I'd go download it now and make the switch to whatever will follow Sudachi once that one has been taken down by Litigatendo.

EDIT: Ok yeah it's worse than I thought, the Sudachi site just DIRECT LINKS to a place you can download prod & title keys from. Once Litigatendo finds out about that, Sudachi is cooked.

There is already PS4 emulator in early stage like beta. Developers still working on PS4 emulator name is ShadPS4.

I saw Xbox One emulator name is XWine1. I remember saw Xbox One game name is ReCore means enemies have red orb ball and other good robot have blue orb ball to allow us to swap between robots. Steal red orb ball out of robot body and toss away or destroy it then put blue orb ball in to make ally to join in to help in battle. ReCore is one cool game on my wanted list to play on Xbox One emulator on my gaming PC. ReCore game is shooter compare to Halo. Also on Steam too. I looking into ReCore game.

That's great to know. B-) :yay:
XWine1 isn't an emulator. It's a translation layer. Emulating the Xbox One and Series might be able to achieve more accurate results in theory, but would be way harder.

Same with Wine. Wine isn't a Windows emulator either, its a translation layer.

So now, to play ROMs of new releases, you have to have a homebrewed Switch unit...

I mean, I do have one and it's working like a charm, but other people might not be as lucky as me and find someone offering to sell an unpatched unit close to them.

Before people tell me "well, it's open-source, so people will fork it and it'll go on", look what happened with Yuzu.

Just to weigh in on the suyu sudachi debate... I have tested both on my android and they both provide worse results than the last official yuzu build.

What are they updating exactly and is it only windows builds??

I did this once when yuzu got shut down lol just renaming stuff and project executables suyu source code in visual studio...

Perhaps we should call the Ryujinx Successor O.L.E.D meaning Optimal Legendary Emulation Device!!!
Nothing like naming the Most Power Hungry Accurate Switch Emulator after Nintendo's Most Powerful Device :rofl2: :rofl2: :rofl2:

Edit : I'm joking i'm not in it they're not coming for me LOL

Which one performs better though, Suyu or Sudachi? And which one is updated most frequently?
I heard more about Suyu than the other, but I'm still debating which one to update my whole Switch environment to from Ryujinx's.
I already did the Yuzu -> Ryujinx change a while ago, shouldn't be hard to do the same again.

As far as I know, Sudachi seem to be the only that actually have gotten updates of this half of the year.
