Updated my Firmware on my tablet (Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2021) and now none of my gamepads let me control the Android UI anymore.
Anyone know of a way to fix this?

It doesnt work like that.Uninstall the update. Alert Lenovo and wait for a fix.
This is an asian market tablet. Lenovo gives no western support and locks all topics and requests. What doesn't work like what??

And if anti rollback works like it should this attempt would be stopped anyway.you could revert exactly one update version. This is not the case, which only leaves a complete format to reflash an earlier stock firmware (and hope the bootloader doesnt fuck that process up).
yeah, i learned my lesson, but i still want to keep using this device since i paid good money for itAnd if anti rollback works like it should this attempt would be stopped anyway.
Pretty much leaves using another device and blacklisting the manufacturer for not providing support.
Yep.And if anti rollback works like it should this attempt would be stopped anyway.

it is rooted, tried my way through all my controllers, theyre all affected.Yep.
Same for Huawei
Some manufacturers are the worst.
Literally.
Did you try other controllers and keyboards to see if they suffer the same fate ?
If it were rootable...
(But thats a rarity these daysy and reason why Samsung has become a smol fav for me)
there is no custom firmware, lenovo did not release source code.If you are rooted is LineageOS or the like an option ?

My S6Lite has it, it c(sh)ould fix this.

Thanks for the explanation. Wasn't aware Lenovo were that bad but I have had similar experience with Huawei so yeah, advice humbly redacted! This is an asian market tablet. Lenovo gives no western support and locks all topics and requests.
The asian Lenovo forums, even with translation going on arent helpful either, since Lenovo doesnt provide support there either.
Because its an asian-only tablet they also felt no need to supply source code and refuse all requests.
Lenovo does not wish to deal with software- and hardware-related issues, so they dont.
Your next idea was to "uninstall the update", which also wont work, not only because it wasnt a recent update, but also because for there to be an actual backup of the state pre-update (only applies to the very last update) would be to switch from the "A" Firmware slot to the "B" Firmware slot and if that functioned correctly, you could revert exactly one update version. This is not the case, which only leaves a complete format to reflash an earlier stock firmware (and hope the bootloader doesnt fuck that process up).
Even then youd lose all data, so its not just annoying but a longterm time investment, like this reply, why not just accept "it doesnt work that way"?
android needs to be launchable and controllable without any touch input from boot to shutdown.Have you tried using a different launcher? If you're primarily using it for gaming, something like Console Launcher, Daijisho, and ES-DE all have controller-centric designs. Beyond that though, just general third party launchers could work.
Definitely worth a shot if nothing else.

So what you want is a new Android launcher, I don’t see the issue? You set it as the default and it’s launched when you boot the system. Disable the Lock Screen via system settings if you can’t dismiss it using your controller and you’re set.android needs to be launchable and controllable without any touch input from boot to shutdown.
a new launcher wouldnt help.
EDIT: i basically want to turn this into an emulation-system permanently hooked up to my tv, for that to work touch input is out the window.
