Tried to update the app this morning via the Universal Updater and it failed.
Current version of Twilight installed 1.5.3
Any suggestions?

Hi there, I hope you guys can help me with my issue. I am trying to run the game "Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors" with the Fast Text Speed ROM Hack on my N3DSXL with Twilight Menu. However, the game freezes at the very beginning of the game. I googled the issue and it seems this is an Anti Piracy Measure, which is somehow activated after applying the ROM Hack. I used romhacking.net to do that. I tried AP-Patching the modded rom via the DS Scene ROM Tool, but it does not recognize the modded rom, only the unmodded one. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Have you tried turning off card read DMA in the per-game settings menu?

I found what seems to be a saving issue on a very specific GBA romhack when running it through GBARunner2.
The hack in question is a fork of Crystal Dust, which is a remake of Pokemon Crystal made in Gen 3 with Pokemon Emerald as base:
https://github.com/Deokishisu/CrystalDust

The fork specifically adds a bunch of QoL features, and can be found in GitLab:
https://gitlab.com/devolov/crystaldust_fork

When trying to run the Crystal Dust Fork through GBARunner2, the game does boot up normally and all, but upon reaching the main game and attempting to save, I get a save error immediately, making the game unable to save at all.
It's important to note, however, that this does not happen with the normal Crystal Dust hack, it seems to be related only to the Fork itself.

I have included BPS patches for both normal Crystal Dust and the Fork for testing, if needed, though I'm not sure if this is the right place to report about this very niche saving error on such an obscure romhack.

Both patches should be applied over a vanilla Pokemon Emerald (USA) ROM, with:
CRC32: 1f1c08fb
MD5: 605b89b67018abcea91e693a4dd25be3

This should be posted in the GBARunner2 thread. You could check if the issue is fixed with GBARunner3 though.

I tried updating to GBARunner3, but with it the hack in question boots to a white screen instead, while with GBARunner2 it did load up to gameplay and all, it was only the saving that was the issue.
Either way, I appreciate the suggestion, I'll redirect the issue to the proper thread instead.

is is normal that when using Direct slot-1 launch method, dsi-enhanced retail carts are being run in ds mode? is there a technical limitation that prevents Direct mode from being able to run carts in dsi mode?

neither unlaunch or reboot launch methods work btw, they both hang on a black screen. and I'm sure I had my slot 1 game working in dsi mode previously when running it through twlmenu, but maybe I misremember
