If i update atmosphere and everything using USB Mass storage within Hekate is it fine if i delete the atmosphere and bootloader like in tutorial for clean install or i need to replace it ?

Kinda afraid i don't know if i have some kind of sys file that gonna make everything mess up because i found out my switch lite have mission control and i don't know if there is other in it

Normally I work on previous gen consoles but got ahold of a switch lite. I fried the 3.3v resistor, came off as soon as i touched it. Is there a fix or is the console done for?
Also, if it's not done for, can somebody post a direct wire guide? I dont want to use the ribbon cable.

thinking of selling my pro controllers and using a ps5 controller - is it worth it?
(dont really use pro controllers to be fair or often, but maybe ps5 controllers will have a longer shelf life for me, as i have a ps5 too)

never tried this does this work with ps5 controllers? in docked mode does it need sycning each time or it is a good replacement / like for like for pro controllers - will switch turn on with other controllers etc i dont care for amiibo but does everything else work?

If you use PS5 controller on your Switch, one of the limitations is that you won't be able to wake up your console from sleep by using it, as far as I know of. I'm not familiar with all the features PS5 controller has, but you probably won't be able to use all of them - buttons, motion controls and basic rumble should be pretty much it.

st installed Mission Control paired dual sense 5 had a brief play of Mario kart powered it off / sleep mode and now it won't turn on

In both docked or undocked mode

Prior to this I did also max out all settings in system-cal mod, but now it not turning on
Just a black screen

If you use PS5 controller on your Switch, one of the limitations is that you won't be able to wake up your console from sleep by using it, as far as I know of. I'm not familiar with all the features PS5 controller has, but you probably won't be able to use all of them - buttons, motion controls and basic rumble should be pretty much it.

This is actually how I update Atmosphere. Removes the risk of breaking the SD card connector inside the console while ensuring everything is properly updated.

I'm not sure what system-cal mod is, first time hearing about it.

So you're unable to wake up / power on your console by pressing the power button? Tried resetting the console by holding the power button for around 20 or more seconds? If not, try that and see if it boots into the OFW. If it does, restart and boot into RCM and launch your CFW, see if it's working again, remove the files on your SD card that are possibly causing the crash / freeze (that system-cal mod you've mentioned). If it doesn't boot into OFW, make sure that the battery isn't low. Once the battery's drained, it can take a while for the Switch to charge in the beginning, but it should be pretty steady after a while.

I do, er, well I used to. If you have any mods or cheats then you shouldn't be deleting the entire atmosphere folder when updating. For example, I have the mods installed that bypass the need for a Jackbox account. Those mods are contained inside the contents folder so I try to delete every other folder. Mods i have is only breath of the wild but i can back up that, so i don't need to delete bootloader and just drag and drop ? For atmosphere it's fine if i delete it after backup all my mods ?

Maybe you can use an extender cable with the official one? That's how I'd do it as I usually prefer the official chargers for my consoles.

Legit ones are probably overpriced now, provided you can find any available for sale.

I'd suggest that, if you have an Android phone, you can send payloads via Rekado once you connect your phone with the Switch. Even the RCM Loader clones can send Hekate's payloads which will look for update.bin on your SD card and, if found and is newer, update.bin will be launched instead, therefore you don't need to update the payload on your injector.

if you don't want to use your phone or PC to send payloads (i.e. you want a dedicated RCM loader device), you can also make yourself a DIY RCM loader by using a supoorted Raspberry Pi model and running the Fusée à la Alpestre on it. I've personally used Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W and it works well. Along with it and its case, I've purchased a USB micro B to type C cable and a RPi charger with the power switch. I've paid around $40 in total so it's not really the cheapest solution, nor it's portable enough. I'll probably add a battery to it to make it portable once I find a suitable one.

Wow, I didn't know Fusée à la Framboise got updated! It's an interesting concept. Fusée à la Framboise worked well when I tried it several years ago in the early days of the fusée exploit. On the other hand, it's probably a bit of overkill to use a Raspberry Pi just as a RCM payload pusher. I think the best option for those without a dedicated RCM Loader dongle is to use Rekado, if it's compatible with one's phone. In any case, plenty of options to push a payload. I wish Nintendo wouldn't have issued a C&D against Dragon Injector several years ago. That was the absolute best device, fitting in the cartridge slot. Wish I had bought one back then.

Same here. I wish I got into the Switch hacking scene sooner, I missed on buying a bunch of fancy gadgets.

I'm currently on 18.0.0 and everything's working fine as far as I can tell.

Correct, the bootloader folder doesn't need to be deleted; its designed to be updated by simply placing the latest bootloader folder onto the SD card. Backing up your mods is fine as well.

I do NOT recommend using HATS. Its a bloated package that doesn't teach users at all how to update their files and loads them up with useless programs. The fact that they specifically tell you to not delete the bootloader folder when the creator of Hekate themselves encourage users to do so speaks volumes of the atrocity of HATS. In case you don't believe me, if you go to the releases page on the Hekate GitHub page and scroll down to how to update, it clearly states that there is absolutely no need to delete the old bootloader folder first.
