Switchroot Android R version publicly released, allows you to boot Android 11 on all Switch models

The first public release of Switchroot's Android R/11 version is here. Available as a beta, the Switchroot team has published a guide on how to run Android 11 or R on all models of hacked Nintendo Switch systems. You'll need to delete your previous Switchroot installation if you want to run it, with the new version offering better WiFi consistency, more JoyCon support, and quality of life improvements. This is a beta release, so bugs are expected, though the Switchroot developers claim that this is fairly stable, as far as beta releases go.

i wish this kind of effort was put into homebrew apps on the Switch. having a "native" browser to run on CFW would be cool. the only versions I've seen are slow single-tab versions of the built in browser. either way, this whole thing is cool as shit. love to see nintendo consoles experimented on.
Given it was Android (and IOS) that crushed the DS and what remained of the PSP homebrew scenes, and also saw the 3ds one never even take off, it is somewhat amusing to see it come full circle.

Why Android 11 tho? We've been on Android 13 for a year now, lol.
Because this is possible by using nvidia's android 11 source. Going to Android 12+ breaks literally everything and requires a lot more work than just going for android 11.

Shield games works on it like Half Life 2 and others?
Some might, but don't expect every nvidia shield game to work on it.

Android for Switch has been around for, literally, years.
you are one step closer to lvl 10 :D

All Switch Models.........if you can Hack it. For the Setup, you must be able to Trigger the RCM. I have a Patched Switch, so it cant be done

Thanks a lot!
It may still be worth looking into alternatives like Android for game streaming, as Android may have more access to the hardware's supported codecs for a better experience. With HOS using up the h.264 codec and a gig of RAM for itself and all.
But if the Chiaki NRO yields good results, that's great!

srry double post .

Has anyone actually got this to install? The recovery formats /data and system like it's supposed to but it errors out actually installing the lineage zip. I tried the Lineage recovery and TWRP. (Nothing works in the Lineage recovery. TWRP at least successfully formated.)

Nvm. I got it. I guess the download was corrupted. I redownloaded the zip, copied it over again, and it just works.
