Yeah... an alternative could be Homebrew, but you'll require to install the SD Hardware Mod, and install Wii Menu System with SD capabilities.

I'm not familiar with Homebrew in Wii Mini, so there could be a possibility to use Wi-Fi to transfer saves.

Please try "SaveGame Manager GX".
It should offer copying to USB drive.

In the end of the day, I used SaveGame Manager GX. It works.

And those wondering about save files, you need to create the save file in game, and only then you can transfer it.
Use SaveGame Manager GX, it's nice.
