The only point to buy this card is the RTC, therefore, to play GEN 2 POKEMON!!! E THEY DONT WORK!!!!!!!!!

i dont like to read 63 pages. in case nobody posted the power comparison before, here it is: D117FF56-E5B2-4D00-8668-FE5A0D768746.jpeg
source: https://gekkio.fi/blog/2021/power-consumption-of-game-boy-flash-cartridges/

With my setup my battery lasts ~4h. (Pocket+EZ-Jr.+IPS+DK land in demo mode+1000mAh LiPo+full brightness).

Yeah, I'm giving up on this cartridge. I regret buying it, since the EDGB (OS v4) clone I have does everything so much better. Especially the menu not slogging page by page. Sorry EZ-Flash, but I'm out.
I truly find the clone Everdrive GB cartridges to be better. Bought one from AliExpress two years ago and it has always worked like a charm.

Yeah, and they're cheaper too by almost half the price. Typically $25-ish on AliExpress, with many shell color choices.

How is the battery consumption of EDGB v4 compared to the ezflash jr? I'm playing Pokemon Yellow in a modded gbc with ips v5 and I'm facing some issues to load the save when the AA battery is low (after around 4 hours of play).

The EDGB is better. It's reportedly not as good as the official X series, but I can't confirm that personally.

I casually tested power consumption in Pokemon Red's title screen with a cheap USB ammeter and DC input adapter and got the following current measurements. The meter wasn't very precise so these are only ballpark figures.

Bootleg cartridgeEDGBEZ Flash Jr
Game Boy Pocket0.05A0.06A0.09A
Game Boy Color0.02A0.04A0.05A

EDIT: I'm curious, is your Pokemon Yellow an original cartridge? Some bootlegs are known to draw a lot more power than usual while they save.

The Everdrive clones are clones of the old Everdrive GB from before krikzz made the X series. They even use the old firmware files of the non-X EDs. Not sure if the chinese knockoffs improved anything since then but i would not trust them to have lower power consumption than the terrible, genuine one shown in the graph above.

The X7 is definitely very good but watch out for the microSD. I found that some microSD cards hog much more power than others. You can compare by how much the power LED of your Game Boy dims when the microSD is accessed.

Good to know! I'll consider in getting a EDGB to test if it works better than the ezflash in my modded gbc. Unfortunally, the official X series prices are prohibitive for me.

No, I'm playing Pokemon Yellow through ezflash jr. I already have the original cartridge and it works with no issue. I'm just using the flashcart for convenience (to carry my whole library of games with me).

Yeah at this point of time @EZ-Flash2 has already given up on their projects. Since they have already milked enough from us anyways. If you guys are looking for better flash carts with RTC, you can check out mbc3000 from bennvenn.

hello on this flash card with cpu suffix on gbc does not work wario land 2 and 3 i downloaded multiple versions of roms also diffrent sd cards also 3 firmwares 1.05 to test, none of them work! any help?

I think the least @EZ-Flash2 could do is make the firmware open-source...
So that the community can at least improve it somewhat, even if the RTC is impossible to fix.

Weird. Wario Land 2 works fine on my EZJr.

Try getting your ROMs from a different source. If possible, search for "nointro + game name".

As long as you remember to press the button every time to let the kernel restart and backup the save, it does not matter whether you have a battery or not, unless you forget to press the button and just shut down the console, or you want to play RTC games, it is necessary to renew the battery.

BTW, CR1220's capacity is only about 35-40mah, while the common CR2032's capacity is 235-240mah, the former's capacity is only 1/6 of the latter.
Has support been abandoned? Or is there still an update planned?

Got my ez flash jr and noticed something strange: when I play and save on Dragon Warrior Monster 1 (only happen with this game) on my gbc with ips screen, the save don't work (I have done the procedure to save, wait, press reset on cartridge, save on blue screen - with auto save on and off - but the result is always the same).

Tried different roms from the game too, with the same result.

When loading the game, the save is lost (even I seeing the 8kb save file was created on micro sd Kingston 16gb I have).

The save only works when using a gba (with or without ips screen).

Can someone explain why this happens? Thanks

i cant really help, sorry, but maybe it would help to apply a save patch. https://github.com/mattcurrie/gb-save-states/tree/master/patches
there are a lot of patches but not for your game. Submit an issue and hopefully someone will create a patch for you.
