Yes, SD Card FAT32 Format and was on latest version of Atmosphere and latest Official Switch Firmware
Well, that blows my theory. It really shouldn’t be messing with anything outside of the game (but what do I know?)

I might try it a little later on mine. I’ve not caused myself unnecessary work in at least 3 days.

Looks great in general.

Have you attempted injecting hekate.x.x.x.bin instead of fusee.bin?

Another thing to try is…

Try changing the following stanza:

(...)

I've tried booting through Hekate -> "Launch" -> "CFW", Hekate -> Payload, and directly injecting fusee. None work.
I've also updated the hekate_ipl.ini with the line you mentioned. Doesn't work as well.

Updating Pokémon Scarlet through "Match version with local users" feature may have corrupted my SD card?

I was trying to update my copy of Pokemon scarlet through the "Match version with local users" feature using my clean switch to pass the update to my CFW switch. Then suddenly, my CFW switch's screen went completely white and became unresponsive.

I held the power button for 15 seconds to force it off. I opened TegraRCM and injected the payload and got to Hekate but couldnt boot into my emmunand. It would show the atmosphere splash screen abruptly and would immediate turn itself off every time.

Then, I took out my SD card and put it in my computer and noticed that the SD card was taking forever to open. It wouldn't let me copy, delete, or move files without making my file manager become unresponsive.

I got a new SD card and put atmosphere and all my homebrew apps back on it and everything seems to be working smoothly now. No issues at all

Could it be that updating my game through the built in Switch feature corrupted my SD Card?

You sure the card is 100% good?

If you do end up testing it out yourself, please let us know if you experienced the same problem :wacko: I'm genuinely curious if Nintendo perhaps coded something malicious to tackle CFW users.

Previously, I would always use the feature (Match version with local users) to update all my games without going through the hassle of finding the game update online and never had a single issue...

Just before trying to update pokemon scarlet, I had plugged the sd card into my computer to grab a save out of JKSV and didn't have any issues at all...

I'm too scared to find out, I switched to a new more expensive SD card so I'm not exactly willing to run the risk lol
User: binkinator said he might attempt to recreate the problem sometime to find out for us

Might have to do with the sd card though since you took it out a lot, you would want to stick to hekate usb features and ftp.

Careful. That guy lies. A lot. You might be waiting a while. And he stuffs his pants. With a sock. In the back. So gross.

Ok this question is going to sound really stupid (seeing as I should know better and already think I know the answer). So I apologise in advance.

Does anybody have or know if it's possible to write a bin file that launches into official firmware? (I'll call it ofw.bin).

What I'm ultimately trying to achieve.... I nodded a v1 switch for a young boy for free as the family don't have much money. I've given him my RCM loader (all payloads except fusee deleted). I've enabled RCM mode. I don't really want a young kid messing with Hekate so at the moment he turns it on puts the RCM loader in and out works....

But I need to find a way of getting back into ofw. Ideally I don't want to turn off autorcm. Ofw.bin would be ideal or maybe there's a homebrew app? Reebot_ofw?

To be honest he only really wants this to play fall guys... But he wants it, do thought I'd ask.

Any ideas?

You can boot OFW with the following stanza added to your /bootloader/hekate_ipl.ini file:

[Stock SysNAND]
fss0=atmosphere/package3
stock=1
emummc_force_disable=1
icon=bootloader/res/icon_switch.bmp

You can make this the default option to boot by putting the above stanza first in the list of options and modifying this line:

autoboot=1

This way if they ever want to go full CFW they have to intentionally tap Vol (-) during the Hekate boot to then launch CFW.

Nothing is 100% safe once you start hacking but this method is relatively low risk.

does anyone know if SAK creates nsp forwarders in applet mode or in full-ram mode?

also -- does anyone know the URL tinfoil is trying to hit? (i'm assuming it is just looking for updates?)

Don't you have the emunand as files?

Can't you simply do a full format on the PC on the old mSD and copy paste Ur current emunand from the new mSD and simply test again?

All you lose is time and not much else...

Applet mode is triggered when you run something as an applet such as the Album. Games, such as .NSP files, are not treated as applets and therefore do not run in Applet Mode thus are able to use more RAM. Also, I wouldn't know what URL its looking for since I never use that app. Instead, I use TinWoo Installer which I think is a much better homebrew in my opinion because its simpler to use and never gives me or others any issues.

I am quite a beginner and have found an old Switch online on which I tried to to install CFW and the Switch Stock OS parallel.
As apparently the tutorial by cfwaifu: switch-emunand is a little out of date I went with a recommendation from this Forum and used theTutorial by rentry: EristaEmuNAND

Related to the versions I tried to use the most current version possible:

  • atmosphere-1.4.0-master-36a33617a+hbl-2.4.3+hbmenu-3.5.1
  • hekate_ctcaer_5.9.0_Nyx_1.4.0
(both from Github)
  • signature patches (18.10.2022 from wiidatabase.de)

After installing everything according to this manual I can't start Atmosphere CFW or the Stock Os. Everything worked during the installation process as supposed to - except for the very last steps:

I honestly don't know what is expected from me to put on the SD card when the process is finished.

When launching Atmosphere CFW I get the following Error:
Code:
A fatal error occurred when running Fusée.
Failed to open sdmc:/atmosphere/package3

Press POWER to reboot

When launching Stock SysNAND it's this one.
Code:
Error while loading fss0
atmosphere/package3
Wrong ini cfg or missing/corrupt files!

Failed to launch HOS!

Press any key...

The SD card currently has two folders: bootloader and emuMMC. Inside bootloader the file hekate_ipl.ini is still as from the tutorial.

I have just redone it, step-by-step, downloaded all the files again and ran into the same issue.

What to do now? What could have gone wrong? (Well, everything, but from my point as a beginner it's quite difficult to see)

Switch starts with XAJ400180...
Are you SURE you followed the guide?

This one right here: https://rentry.org/EristaEmuNAND

/atmosphere/package3 is suspicious if you are trying to boot CFW.

…see highlight step 3 below

Ok, here's an update. I googled and apparently with the steps that I didn't understand I was supposed to re-unzip the three archives onto the SD-Card.
Now it works.
However... I am not sure what to do with that.

I selected Atmosphere CFW from hekate, got an Atmosphere bootsceen, then a Nintendo Switch Bootscreen - and the console started into the Stock OS. Restarting gives me the Atmosphere-Logo and then the switch boots back into the StockOs.
I can't start the console any more regularly (the tinfoil-RCM (hommade) is still in place - when was I supposed to remove it?).
However I can start the console with TegraRCM into Hekate. Also, when it's plugged into my notbook Hkeate 5.9 starts.

What exactly is happening here?

This thread is the correct location for common issues.

I recommend going over the guide again. Your hekate_ipl.ini didn’t seem to be configured properly. You are likely booting CFW on Sysnand for both. Check your Firmware version in Setting and see if it ends with (S)ysnand or (E)munand or no letter at all.
