Ever, you know, reinstalled the OS? That old, I would go with XP.

Backup the files you need, format the hard drive with DBAN, then reinstall your OS. fixes shit a lot.

Also don't have an XP boot disc, and 7 was running perfectly fine until about a month ago.

Everything inside of it is 7 years old except for the video card that is about two years old technology wise. Still about 20GB free on the 120GB main HDD, it's just that the machine is pretty much ancient in terms of technology. I'm surprised it can run Portal so well, though I'm sure that's primarily because of the upgrade from an on board chip set to an actual video card.

I just hate it, a lot. Browsing the internet is a strain for this thing anymore.

Whats The Specs? goto my computer > properties. Also run dxdiag and tell us the graphix card. mabe it just needs to be upgraded a bit (add some ram, mabe get a new graphix card)

Graphics card is fine, and it only has 1GB of RAM.

My computer is way worse than that but I don't really have problems with it. I mean, besides gaming problems.

It's a Pentium 4, it has 512mb RAM and built in 64mb VRAM incompatible with even DX8. It has generally old parts. But it runs better than some of my friends' up to date computers because I take better care of it.

You should get CCleaner, it helps a lot imo. You can also delete useless shit.

No! Bolloxs! You are in Japan therefore (in my version of reality*) you have have a superdooper J7 cpu ( Lynnefield is so last century), 27 1/2 Gb's of RAM and a Jvidia Quadro 3 Million.
So there.

*The official version is overrated in my opinion.
