Yay! I Found One!

I was browsing the Craigslist postings like I've been doing for the past week or so, checking for the PSP I so desperately want for only $60. Generally though, people try to offload all of their PSP crap with it which ends up bumping the price far beyond where I like. Then they aren't willing to sell the PSP separately.

I see an ad, a very recent one mentioning a PSP and game bundle for sale. A PSP (silver) with a 4GB memory card and a case for $60. Now, I have no clue what kind of PSP, the condition, anything. There are just a couple of small pictures to go off of. I sent an email saying I was very interested, would like to know about the PSP, and now I'm really hoping I'm not too late.

Meh, I've always thought that PSPs werent that great, no definitive games and not too recently, Hotz V. S-.... I'll leave that out for now.. :D. But congratz anyways :grog:

The PSP has more than a few titles I want to play, and there is some very appealing homebrew and emulators I would love take advantage of that is just flat out not available with my DS. Also, every model of PSP is hackable now. Not full hackable with exploited RAM like the 2000 series (well, most versions of it), but enough that back ups can be run and that tons of homebrew can be run.

I honestly don't care what PSP model I get. I get a 1000, 2000, or 3000 series, I put full or half hacks on it and then buy the memory separately through a deal I already made with my Mom. I get a Go, and I'm just kind of good to go with the 16GB of built in memory.

This PSP is such a good deal though. The other guy I had emailed already fell through wanting $110 for the PSP w/ the battery and charger (seriously, who charges extra for the ability to turn on the damn system off of the cord?) and a "free" plastic case. Ugh, pass. Even if it is an already hacked 1000 series, I'm just not willing to pay that much.

awesome .
now all you have to do is contact the seller ASAP to try to get it first :D
if there are any defects like UMDs aren't read , or there is a crack on the case , it's nothing a little casemod can't fix !

If UMD's don't read, no big deal, I won't be using any. :D

If there's a crack, just a simple case swap. I'm fairly confident in this sale. Hopefully there is nothing terribly wrong with the system.

A charger really isn't that important, since you can charge off of usb. There is even a custom firmware toggle to enable usb charging while playing games.

If it's silver I honestly doubt it's going to be a 1000 series, and if it's being sold for 60 I doubt it's a 3000 series. Like I said, best of luck!

A fully hackable 2000 series is the best I could ask for. I just need to hope this isn't someone who thought that 6.35 firmware would be an excellent idea.

Would you not be able to use Pandora's battery on it?

That would require purchasing a Pandora Battery, which I wouldn't be able to do due to money restrictions.

Congrats. I'm loving my PSP 1000 I just got :) I don't want to hijack this topic, but is there anyway to charge a PSP 1000 from USB?
The 1000 doesn't support USB charging. That was only in 2000 and above.
I'm aware of that. I was just wondering if there was a way via homebrew to enable USB charging.

You have to mod the system itself, like open is and solder some stuff in. I don't know how to do it. Try searching around for it, not trying to be rude.

Take note that it should be on firmware 6.35 or below for best hackability, regardless of the model.

I swapped my scratched black faceplate for a red one, and it looks legit!! Good luck on your craigslist sale!

Well, I"ll just have to hope it isn't at 6.37, won't I?

This is probably the best deal I'm going to find though, so I'll just have to hope that it meets my needs for hacking. If it is 6.37 by some fluke (I don't know anybody who updates that often), is there anything out currently that can downgrade it, or would I just be temporarily out of luck until some kind of safe downgrade is available?
