It's Here, Split Pad Pro

This came in the mail today! I never knew this accessory existed until @Silent_Gunner recommended it and he personally enjoyed it.

I also did my own research just to have an idea what other gamers thought about it and the general consensus is that: it is ergonomic, it's comfy and is a decent replacement for the default joy-con, though many have said the mushy d-pad is a big negative, I have tried the d-pad it's fine with me, in fact, it has a nice depression to it, the analog stick travels a nice full circle and I hope it doesn't drift, I mean I have read this thing does actually drift but the probability is a lot lower compared to the JC.

All I need now is to grab a new hard case and remove any crystal casing on the Switch when using this.

Hopefully I won't be bitchin' about this controller in the future. Thanks @Silent_Gunner

I can't read Japanese... Does it support motion controls for Splatoon and Breath of the Wild? If not, it's useless to me.

@Jayro nope it doesn't.

Missing:
1. HD Rumble.
2. Gyro Sensor.
3. IR Camera.
4. NFC.
5. amiiboo scanner/support.
6. Wireless (cannot be used detached), strictly handheld.

I brought one when I seen a news here long time ago, and never regretted it.
Did several hours of Mario kart , Zelda , Overwatch even Mario Kart 2 with that D Pad.
So far for the price that way better than the original joycon.
NFC, no problem I use CFW and have a second gamepad in case that support it.
Rumble I always disable it when I can. (hands pain issues with heavy stuff like heavy gamepad or console, that why I like Hori split pad, they weight a bit less than joycons.)
Gyro I never liked the concept as game controller.
IR cam (lol never had chance to use it.)
And my joycon was always attached when I played.
So what missing was not an issue for me and seem these "low cost" joycon, was made for people like me xD

not at all, (I am not someone that do meaningless circles with my thumbstick during loading (yeah well I am !)) and even after year it still work fine and no drift at all. ^^

I like the design, didn't know they made designs like that. Do they have other mons too?
They could make a little wireless accessory for this that connects inbetween the two halves, makes them wireless and adds a USB charging port. Basically turning the entire thing into a Pro Controller.

@Baoulettes hehe, noted :)

@The Real Jdbye so far only:

Pikachu (black/gold, yellow/black)
Eevee & Pikachu (pastel color design)

Yeah, if they have one in future where all the JC features are in this same egonormic design I will definitely buy another pair.

Wow, it's basically missing everything. Talk about a featureless product. If it just had motion controls... Something like this would be perfect for me. Since it's so featureless, I can't imagine it runs for more than any other $20 Switch controller.

$50 D:
It's not worth that. For that price, I expect gyros and basic rumble at the very least. But it is Hori so at least it's probably well built.

    @Psionic Roshambo, people who cant download it can still play the game
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    If your internet speeds are fast enough. Streaming 4k takes alot. I used to only have 20mb sec, and 4k struggled. Now I have 300mb sec and 4k plays fine.

    I think Game streaming should work like this.... Local Hardware able the run the game fine, game engine and common assets stored locally, all FMV and music and textures could be streaming

    Or free government supplied high speed internet be nice also. Like Obama care. Xdqwerty that's cool, its time consuming but rewarding once done or playable, to see what you've made from scratch. Animations take forever, but worth it.

    @BigOnYa,
    and the visual aspect of the game is quite crude (the sprite that looks best is that of the protagonist just because he is a stickman with sunglasses)

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    There is a bullets behaviour you assign to your character, that makes the code easier, under "behaviours"
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    i meant that when the character is pointing to the right, the bullets spawn where they should, but when he is on the right, they move to the right but the spawn point is incorrect
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
    Itch.io has lots of free assets also. Under the bullets behavior tab, there is a "rotate bullets" option, can try that. Or in the code can try
    - fire bullet Player.X(PlayerDirection)

    That's cool tho, I'm proud of you going back to it, not giving up. It is difficult at first to learn, but fun once you get the hang of it. I think I've watched every tutorial video there is, but I still struggle sometimes to get stuff to work right. But gotta keep trying dif things, and eventually you will get it right.
