Can you access the SD via FTPiiU and filezilla? If yes (and only the SD can be accessed) then it may be that Mocha+FShax isn't working correctly for you for some reason.
Can you access anything other than the SD?

Oh jesus christ, i figured it out. I was going into "/storage_mlc/usr/title/0005000e/101c9400/content/Voice/USen" when it shouold have been "/storage_mlc/usr/title/00050000/101c9400/content/Voice/USen" god i feel like an idiot. thanks for all your help and again thanks for the flawless instructional guide (i am the flawed one lol). That little "e" sure gave me quite a bit of trouble ( ._.) thanks again!

people think japanese voice is superior becuase they dont understand it, its not that great either lol.
True, but it's better than understanding the English which to me sounds horrible.

Nintendo of America clearly put a lot of money into this localisation, getting all stars who played roles such as "Unnamed Knights" in For Honour and "Background Smurf Voices".

Going for the update data. Easy mistake to make. It does a weird thing where it dummies all the files but they don't really exist. Sorry, I should have cottoned on to that sooner.

yea maybe that should be noted, "do NOT accidently try to use 00050000e as it contains empty folders that cant be overwritten" heh. also it kept losing the connection between ftpu and filezilla but once i turned off youtube, it went smooth. 826 files copied over, is that correct? i just copied all the folders

Just the folders, no .bars.
I don't know the exact amount.

"miphas grace" is said like every 20 minutes and its still in english and its annoying. is there any way to make it jap? or mute it?
The files are all there on the Voices folder, but the game seems to load them from somewhere else, presumably one of the regionless .pack (SARC) files. Yaz0 compressed SARC/SZS seems to be the common format inside those and I've yet to manage a successful repack, I made a thread on the subject.

The undub we have at the moment is almost perfect, it's just the champion powers voiceover that we haven't changed.
Not just that, but by keeping the original .bars files doesn't that mean we have the dub actors for dialogue noises (for characters that were dubbed)? It's a minor thing, but another step away from perfect.

Well, arriving as late as possible...

This has both LA Spanish and Iberic Spanish...... but no Portuguese of any kind???
...
....
......
Whatever... doesn't feel right.

PS: I may switch from English to Spanish just to try, both Spanish versions sound good (but I am leaning more to Iberic based on that short video)

Pretty sure the grunts and shouts during gameplay are the same for all regions. Regardless, I don't think many of the bars actually contain audio, but just point to another file that does. I'll have to check both of these things, so don't quote me on it.

It's a pity about the champion item sound effects though, it bothers me greatly that I don't hear Mipha's sweet German voice every time I die. :( I might root through the files again, it's probably in a .SARC archive or something.

I'm not sure. Maybe. I think that the .bars files are just pointers to load the soundfiles but I could be wrong.

I think it's probably in a SARC or something similar in one of the .pack files.

I thought the non-voiced characters were the same, but characters that have spoken dialogue and therefore were dubbed had their grunts and murmurs replaced with their localised voice actors grunting and murmuring, but I'm not 100% certain either.

Yes yes, but I'm talking about the characters that were dubbed, not random NPCs at stables.

OK, I think I may have found the Champions' voice files, but I haven't tested it. I used @mariosonicds ' version of Uwizard. There's a few .bars in content\Pack\TitleBG_EUxx.pack that I think might be it. They're named after the Japanese names of the champions, and there's a different .pack for every language, so there's a good chance that this is it.

Capture.PNG

Interestingly, I checked with HXD and found that TitleBG_EUen.pack and TitleBG_EUnl.pack are the same, so I'm pretty sure it's the voice files because the Dutch version uses the same audio as the English one. I'd test switching the folder names, but according to @botwpoking , repacking isn't perfect yet.

SARC repacking seems to be working fine. It's the files inside them, Yaz0 compressed SARCs, that won't repack properly. Give it a try.

Edit: Oh, I see it now, that's Yaz0. Sorry.

Another Edit: Have you tried simply switching the files and repacking the PACK? I can't test at the moment.

The only NPC I've noticed that had obviously English grunts and other sound effects was the goron kid that helps you get to the Death Mountain divine beast. Beyond that nothing seemed out of the ordinary, though I wouldn't doubt that any dubbed characters had different noises (I just didn't notice).

You'll need to do more than just rename the .packs. The folder inside them is named after the region as well, so we'll have to rename that too. I don't think you need to do any Yaz0 encrypting to do that, so I might try it again later.

By that do you mean that you turned them off essentially? We could find out if we renamed them to null and saw if the voices still played. If they don't then they might be the right files.

How did you extract the ssarc? I can only extract to here:
VViC6Th.png

I guess maybe I should mention that I did extract the TitleBG_EUen.pack file once before and replaced its contents with the japanese contents (the bars and ssarc) using wiiUzip and it didn't actually change anything.

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I really would like to make a hack that I would enjoy playing, and maybe other people would too. swapping to the EU version would also mean my US friends could not legally play it
  • TwoSpikedHands @ TwoSpikedHands:
I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though

@TwoSpikedHands just switch, all the knowledge you learned still applies and most of the code and assets should be the same anyway

    and realistically they wouldn't

be able to play it legally anyway since they need a ROM and they probably don't have the means to dump it themselves
