It's not a rare bug at all. There are message board related functions that those games use that aren't handled correctly by the older system menus.

Well. Im sick of dealing with this. I thought the update did it, but i spoke 2 soon. So i restored my nand via bootmii, and tried the games, twice each. no errors. YET. i've ran into this issue b4 and restored my nand. then it started happening again in about a week. idk what this problem is, or why its happening, but its not going away, and it needs to.
Notes i have on it:
-Occurrs after returning to wii menu from the following 3 games about 75% of the time. loaded ANY way, (USB load or genuine disk copy via Disk channel)
-Wii Fit Plus
-Wii Music
-Tetris Party Deluxe
-Wii Fit(?)
+all games have balance board support.
-While in Maintenance Mode, error dosen't Appear Ever.
+Why?
-Error appears about 1-25 times before it stops happening.
+Again, Why?
-----------------------------------
Attempted Solutions (all failed)
-Update and add most recent, non-stubbed IOS files (done via dop-mii)
-Updated System Menu to 4.2 via DOP-mii
-System Menu 4.2 loads fine, but games still start that error process.
+++++++++++++
any notes on this error that anyone has would be appreciated.

Well i have this issue too. From time to time, this message appear and sometimes i've had to unplug the power cable and left a couple minutes to boot the wii correctly.
Now i think don have it anymore, what i think did the magic was to update the system menu and IOS use by it and have no USB connected to the Wii. I don know if u tried this.

If nothing helps check out comex nand formatter, but please only try it if you really can't live with it.

I know this post is already many years old and I am very sorry to refloat, but a friend has the same problem but with a game called Marbles Balance Challenge (saga kororinpa in USA). Every time he press return to the menu wii after playing receive the message and the only solution he has is to enter maintenance mode and delete the save file. Curiously, I also tried wii fit plus to see if It get the same brick message and.... yes, it does. He told me that when he played wii fit plus before making softmod he never got that message, it was after. Also i've to say that the game uses the wii balance board as an accessory... and I don't doubt that any game with such that accessory cause problems, so I told him not to play any games with balance board...
I don't know if anyone has or had this problem and solved it, because I'd like someone to tell me for to calm my friend. Well, that's it. Thanks and im so sorry for resurrecting this post :)

Hello

Which version of wii ??

the Wii is hacked ??

Is the hack up to date?

With which loader?

You launch the game from the USB support or the original CD ??

4.3, PAL.
He hacked it two years ago.
And he usually plays with usb loader gx in latest version.
I tried to launch wii fit plus from usb and my original disk, both give the same data corruption message.
I have read many messages from 9 years ago and many had this problem... I don't think the restoration will fix it.

EDIT: With marbles ballance challenge I think I already know what causes the brick, my friend told me that he installed riiconnect24 (I think this game has online mode and uses the wiiconnect24 too) before this happened and he decided to uninstall it, launched the game again, he created save file and no longer appears the message brick ¿wtf?

Hello everyone, I'd like to chime in and say I'm having the exact same problem

Loading WiiFit Plus, from disk or from usb, powering up the balance board and returning to the wii menu results in the "System files corrupted" error. I used to not have this problem in the past (2015 or so), but since then i have no idea what I did that could've caused this (installed/unninstalled a lot of wads, tested cIOSs, messed around with tickets and titles, etc).

I took a look at the nanderr.log file in and:/shared2/test2 and noticed lot these messages which coincide with the problem:

36 2019/12/18 18:39:06 00000001-00000002 NWC24 error. [-1] iplNwc24Manager.cpp line: 1347

Not sure if this helps troubleshooting it.

Thanks

Edit:

Stuff i've tested so far to no avail:

Not turning on the Balance Board
Deleting the save and allowing it to create another
Deleting the save and not allowing it to create another
Turning WiiConnect24 off
Deleting the channel+save with AnyTitleDeleter
Reinstalling the System Menu
Deleting a few channels i had issues with in the past (Netflix and Youtube)

EDIT 2:

Deleted absolutely everything i had leftover from the NWC era (check mii out, everybody votes, Opera, Nintendo Channel and some other channels I didn't even check), seems to have solved it. gonna restore a NAND backup and try to pinpoint the culprit. I believe it to be Nintendo Channel, I think I remember deleting it in the past for this very same reason (did it display new stuff which would require NWC24 library calls on the banner?).

EDIT 3:

Yep, im almost 100% sure was the Nintendo Channel. Gonna try again tomorrow and see if the problem returns, and then try again with the nintendo channel installed.
Welp, problem returned right after the edit.

So the problem is related to Wiiconnect24? I used the wc24 removal tool without success, it was still happening (it made me lose my usual friend code for nothing  ) . What does Wii Balance Board do for bricking? Or are the cios? It's all so confusing...

Not necessarily, it looks like the WC24 library is responsible for handling the message board.
I tried wiping the entire message board and the problem persists. Restored to my oldest and backup, with basically no modifications except HB Channel and the problem hasn't occurred since.
Searching the internet shows that some people have the problem even without hacking. Maybe it has something to do with the amount of saves? I'll keep investigating.

Hmm, true, Wii Fit does not use wc24 at all, as with Marbles Blance which at first I thought yes...
I'm looking the files in the 0000002 folder and the cache.dat file stores the game data that is used... it's encrypted, but looking a little bit, I've seen a lot of game logs like Animal crossing, nintendo channel, etc...

r7txhKp.png

its function makes games run faster when loaded after starting them, as it stores the DOL of each game. I don't know if the problem should be there exactly but maybe it's in one of these files.

Do you mind posting a Syscheck so we can see what our systems might have in common? Here's the current state of my Nand (the one without any hacks except for HB Channel), i haven't been able to reproduce the problem with it:

My wii is hacked, as you'll see. I also thought that by having the iOS system patched could be the cause... but as I use riiconnect24 I couldn't use it without it. Did you have the IOS system patched of your wii when you saw the corrupted data?

Hello,

Your cios are badly installed, you have this version of cios d2x seen your syscheck report ==>
IOS249 [38] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Acceso NAND
IOS250 [58] (rev 65535, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, Acceso NAND, USB 2.0

The base you use for your cios are: 38 for the 249 and 58 for the cios 250, these are not the right ones

You can install them like this (either version 8 final or version 10 beta 52:

IOS249 [57] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Acceso NAND
IOS250 [56] (rev 21008, Info: d2x-v8final): Trucha Bug, Acceso NAND, USB 2.0

Or this version =>
IOS249 [57] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, ES Identify, Acceso NAND
IOS250 [56] (rev 21010, Info: d2x-v10beta52): Trucha Bug, Acceso NAND, USB 2.0

It should work much better afterwards and you will have more results.
And use Modmii to correctly install your CIOS ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

Excuse me, for the old report, for the other OK.

For the wii fit game, try with base 37, after that it's not sure it works.

My wii is hacked, as you'll see. I also thought that by having the iOS system patched could be the cause... but as I use riiconnect24 I couldn't use it without it. Did you have the IOS system patched of your wii when you saw the corrupted data?

Checked and my most recent nand backup (the one i was having the problem with) does have a patched system menu ios.

IOS80 (rev 16174): Trucha Bug, NAND Access

I reverted to the official rev6994 without any patches. Gonna do a few tests and see if it works

EDIT: Same problem, its not the patched System IOS

Or this version =>

I mainly use IOS249 with base 56, is there any major reason for using with base 57? never had a problem with it.
Anyway, here's my setup:

I believe i have IOS 20, 30, 40, etc as they are as a safety measure if i eventually wanted to downgrade. IOS90 is probably for an eventual system update (that never happened). wanin's IOSs are for VC and Wiiware emunand compatibility (I like it better than using Neek2o). Hermes's are leftover from my original hack, used only for Rockband once and i believe for CoD, before d2x was a thing.

God, my wii is a mess, i should've kept notes when i was messing with it, i have no idea why some cIOSes are installed

Your Wii has many patched ios, you should reinstall them all and leave them clean. So i dont have idea why bricks when playing games with wii balance board.... it's all so weird...
Sometimes I'm afraid to play, I hope someone tries to explain why this happens :(
