Ok so I followed this guide [http://gbatemp.net/threads/guide-noob-guide-to-wii-u-hacking.451297/] Went with Haxchi, used Zelda: spirit Tracks purchased from store, all went well. Followed the guide as per instruction and chose the Mocha Cfw as it sounds like it suits what im wanting to do with my console. Managed to install several Wii U titles to external HDD using wup installer y-mod (I used several of the installers found on HBAS and then went onto installing some VC games, this is when I ran in problems - they would only part install then the program would either back out back to HBL or crash the WiiU. I noticed this with some Wii U games also - Donkey kong Trapical freeze was one, I couldnt get it to install to USB. I accidently chose to install to nand after several fails with DK and it installed after failing to install to USB. Then I started moving files from nand to USB and also (im not sure why) turned on the rednand setting in mocha, I soon turned it off as I realised I didnt have a clue what I was doing - I was just looking for a way to install the games that had been failing to install. when i next went back to system menu Haxchi was gone and Zelda: Spirit Tracks was in its place, I deleted zelda, removed SD and USB, reinstalled Zelda but it fails to install - have tried many times - gives me error code: 105-3687 - no now I have no HaxChi. I have full bckup of nand, if this helps. Is it possible to fix what ever has happened and get Haxchi back?
When I installed all the first lot of games I was using only Haxchi, it wasnt until I booted form Mocha that I noticed some games that wouldnt install previously now were installing (depending which wup installer I used) and also visa versa - some games that I had installed before booting from Mocha and deleted now wouldnt install, got me scratching my head. I havent tried downloading a diffent Ds game from store and dont really want to, I would be a bit upset if it failed to install after paying for another DS title! I have deleted the DS game used for the Haxchi and the haxchi - well what I can see of it via system data management. Haxchi still appears in my start menu but will not work, which ever way I try. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but one of the games I downloaded from Wii U usb helper was Zelda: Spirit tracks - same game as the one I paid for to do the hack -I really wanted to play this game! Also I found that some of the games that wouldnt install would install using the Wii U usb helper tool and installing from SD not from computer via the app - I have just tried this now with SLENDER and got to half into installation then black screen message 'the there is a problem with the USB storage device' error code: 160-4714. Think that is everything. Im really looking forward to someones help, massive appreciation in advance.

You might have setup redNAND on accident. In any case, follow these steps and report back:

1. Take out your SD and copy all your visible files to your PC.
2. Reformat your SD fully using 3rd party formatter
3. Copy all your files back to blank SD
4. Leave SD out of Wii U
5. Unplug all USB and boot Wii U
*only proceed to the next step if you aren't using CBHC*
6. Go to data management and delete all the data associated with the DS game that you used for HaxChi from sysnand.
7. Reboot Wii U (leave SD and USB unplugged)
8. HaxChi should be gone.
9. Go to eshop and download the game you already paid for.
10. On your PC browse to the root of your SD and double click the HaxChi folder
11. Inside of the HaxChi folder double click the config file.
12. Change the bottom line to say "default=sysmenu" and then save.
13. Put your SD back in (Leave USB unplugged)
14. Install latest HaxChi on that DS game you just downloaded.
15. Power off Wii U
16. Plug in USB
17. Power on Wii U
18. Tap HaxChi

Your now in HaxChi CFW. Try I stalling your games and report back

thanks for the reply, followed your instructions to T, the Ds game downloads but fails to install, error code: 105-3687. Its like there is still part of the Ds game or Haxchi on the nand but isnt showing in wii u data management.

I think it relates to the ticket for the Ds game, because I downloaded and installed (using Wii U usb helper) the same DS title that I used for the Haxchi, it has effected the ticket folder(perhapse 2 different tickets for same game?) I dont know where this is and if it is possible for me to access it with software but I am not quite sure this is where my problem lies. Any Ideas how to delete the DS games ticket(s) stored in my nand. I do remeber when I tried to play on the Ds game in question after Haxchi vanished it said unable to start, the user account the game was downloaded with has been deleted!? - something along those lines.

found this thread after searching for the error code - https://gbatemp.net/threads/error-105-3687-and-how-to-fix-it.451635/page-2 - think im on a winner, will keep all updated.

Ok so I fixed Haxchi, but still have the issue with installing to USB - USB makes click sound part way into installation then percentage bar freezes (HD is WD elements 500gb, never used Y-cable, only use one USB port, no external power supply, and is a brand new HDD on ever used on Wii U, problem persists on all 4 USB ports.
Installing to nand is fine but I am unable to tranfer the nand installs to USB, data management will not allow me to. I forgot to mention that when slelecting either nand or USB in data management I sometimes get a message saying something like 'there is unneccessary data on the drive would you like to remove yes or no, I think this could be to do with part installed games that failed, but idk.
Also I must correct what I said originally, VC games will not install at all (on nand or USB), I get Error: MPC_InstallGetInfo 0xFFFBF3E2. Confirm complete WUP files are in the folder...I was getting confused with Eshop titles and VC - as I have successfully installed Slender: the arrial (to nand that is). I cant help thinking I am, missing something regarding the unsigned content something about sigPatching? I have heard this said but cant find any complete guides on it or even tell if this is an outdated method.
I really appreciate your help man, thanks.

There's not enough power for that drive with one cable. I know it's worked before but it's not a work or doesn't work scenario. The issues will come and go until you get a y cable

Thanks for that, I ordered one last night, any ideas regarding what I mentioned with VC games not working?

They will work after extHDD gets enough power.
My concern is that the VC games when trying to install to nand NOT USB still give me Error: MPC_InstallGetInfo 0xFFFBF3E2 - is this still connected to not having Y-cable?... as I get this same error message wether I try to install VC games to nand or USB - I have NOT managed to instal VC games at all during my hacked Wii U quest...

What kind of CFW you're running?
What you're trying to use to install these titles?

Im using Haxchi, also tried mocha and Mocha+fs...have tried all Wup installers I can find on HBAS - gx2, Y-mod, etc. The Haxchi cfw must be working as I can still play Slender which is an unsigned game, I see the 99.99.99 in setting as fw version. Im so lost what to try next

Redownload these VC titles.
With Wii U USB Helper.

Redownload these VC titles.
With Wii U USB Helper.
OK so I redownloaded the same VC titles using Wii U USB helper, same error message (Error: MPC_InstallGetInfo 0xFFFBF3E2. Confirm complete WUP files are in the folder).
I have since then reformated SD card (64gb sandisk sd xc) using fat32-format tool set to 32768 cluster, deleted haxchi via data management, redownloaded DS game from Estore, reinstalled latest Haxchi, booted sysmenu in haxchi...still I can NOT install VC to
my nand - no USB connected. I have tried with Mario and Luigi dream team bros, New super mario bros 2, Zelda link between worlds, zelda majoras mask 3ds - I get the same error mentioned above with all of them. Just installed Mario colour splash to NAND with no problem but this is an offical Wii U title, all the other games mentioned above are not available on the Eshop so are unsigned.
I got Slender (labeled as CFW only on Wii U usb helper)) to install on NAND with no probs but this is on Eshop.
I am missing something here?? Only official Wii U downloads will run on my CFW, no unsigned VC will work.

Could it be to do with the site I am using for the title keys within Wii U usb helper? I have the correct one for Wii U titles but perhapse my 3ds titles key web address is my problem?? Please give me a nod an a wink if this could be it?...I am using the 1st site that comes up when I google search '3ds title database'.

they need to have a strong line up on the launch titles too. I think they should move metroid prime 4 to the next console because by now it has been quite a while and there's no release date scheduled yet

well as far as metroid prime 4 is concerned, the next system probably is similar enough to the current gen they can probably easily just slap it onto a next gen cart and call it good :P
