Star Wars again huh lol? Well this seems like if theres an exploit he should be able to inject code. Unless of course hes editing it in real time..... Which means that we still have nothing....

My bet? He played the game on his modded 3DS, injected certain values, saved the game, placed the game in an unmodified 3DS and presto! Oh, Neimod - you troll you!
Alternatively he did something godlike and actually found an exploit that gave him RAM access, but I'd put that in the realm of fairies for now.

Edit: This seems the most reasonable, for everyone it is as tho he used his ram setup as a action replay and saved his game.... (thing is could he somehow make an exploitable save with this)
If it is he could then sell exploited star wars game cards for 200$ ec, or sell it to a flashcart company for big $$$, I wonder which would profit more hmm....
i love how dirty the 3DS looks in almost every non-comercial photo in the internet.
Personally, I feel that the title of this thread should be changed. The way it is now, most people will think that "Neimod Exploit" = "Way to Play Pirated Games on 3DS", possibly leading to a flamewar over:
1) Neimod being a troll VS. a true hacker
and
2) The original poster being a troll VS. idiot

In my opinion, Neimod is both. But it's people's fault for taking every little thing he do too seriously. A better suiting title for this thread would be "Neimod's Flickr photos update" or "New photos on Neimod's Flickr". I am pretty sure if he found an exploit, he wouldn't announce the exploited game before it was necessary... It would draw Nintendo's attention and it could be patched just like the Vita's hacks.
No matter what we do to prevent it, it is bound to happen...
Anyways, I just noticed something...if Neimod took a photo on October 12, where does he live? Or is his camera's time wrong?

doubt the time's wrong. It would something like 1990 if it was.
I don't know how long the image was there before OP noticed it but all it means is that he's somewhere in the eastern hemisphere.
(I'm sure there are peolpe that know more specifics than that, though.)
EDIT : if you're looking for clues, it looks like his 3DS language was set to dutch.
Except mathieulh sends people code and solutions that have no chance of even working wheras neimod is simply secretive. I find him genuine, just reluctant to share his findings with a wide crowd.
It's probably just a save file hack. Either change the value in RAM on his highly modified 3DS, then save, or else use that 3DS to extract the save in decrypted form, edit it, then replace it and have the game re-encrypt it. Either that or he figured out save file decryption/encryption.

I just found out that the EU version is better in literally every way, better sound quality, better lighting, and there's even a patch someone made to make the text look nicer

@TwoSpikedHands, I'll preface this with the fact that I know nothing about the game, but, I think it depends on what your goals are. Are you trying to make a definitive version of the game? You may want to refocus your efforts on the EU version then. Or, are you trying to make a better US version? In which case, the only way to make a better US version is to keep on plugging away at that one -

I'm not familiar with the technicalities of the differences between the two versions, but I'm wondering if at least some of those differences are things that you could port over to the US version in your patch without having to include copyrighted assets from the EU version

@Sicklyboy I am wanting to fully change the game and bend it to my will lol. I would like to eventually have the ability to add more characters, enemies, even have a completely different story if i wanted. I already have the ability to change the tilemaps in the US version, so I can basically make my own map and warp to it in game - so I'm pretty far into it!

I am definitely considering porting over some of the EU features without using the actual ROM itself, tbh that would probably be the best way to go about it... but i'm sad that the voice acting is so.... not good on the US version. May not be a way around that though
