You would almost certainly see fewer reports of "the Japanese says 'breathing' but you put 'pulse' instead" than reports of "it says 'he/she' when it should be 'he/she' ".
Well, using pulse would be a bit awkward, too. Most people usually check if a person is breathing before they check if they don't have a pulse.
For the record:
1. I'm in medical school, so I know more about the cardiopulmonary system than you do.
2. I'm proficient in Japanese and have experience translating, so I know more about awkward translations than you do.
But that's besides the point. You've managed to miss the entire point of my post completely (hint: I actually said "my point is..." in my last post).
Sorry for the off-topic post, but let's stop the whole back-and-forth thing about translations. Let's just respect the decisions that have been made in the translations and leave it at that.
