This is a full English translation patch for E.X. Troopers, a spin-off game in the Lost Planet series and exclusive to Japan on PS3 and 3DS. November 22, 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of the game’s original release.

After 7 years of working on this project, we are excited to finally share our results. We have faced so many challenges while translating this game, ranging from reverse engineering the game's files, overcoming multiple technical limitations of the game's engine, translating over 17,000 individual Japanese lines, replacing hundreds of speech bubbles in pre-rendered videos, to releasing this patch for two completely different systems simultaneously.

We have poured so much into making this and are proud to finally release it.

The patche's size is practically only videos. Difficult to preserve (?) for future times.

I will check the game on PS3 because you worked for it. :)

Ps.: @IcySon55 About the "anti-tamper" for the PSN version of the game: what is the "problem"? Decrypting .edat files or something?

All of the game's files (mostly ARCs) have header and footer blocks (pretty large ones) filled with seemingly random data (possibly a custom checksum) that prevents the game from running if you modify the contents in between. At least that's what I remember. It's been a while (years) since we bothered with it.

If we ignore the videos, the patch would be just a few hundred megabytes. (It's only 90MB total on 3DS without videos.)

Is it normal for the PS3 patcher to hang on "Verifying opening.pam...: Valid!"?
It hangs on that file and I can't mute the music, nor press cancel or minimize/close the installer.
I see the green bar glowing, but everything else look freezed.

Try running it as administrator.

I'm thinking the program is incorrectly saying 'Valid' for 'opening.pam', but is maybe not valid. I would recommend dumping again.

I guess I'll do that. Although the clean dump worked like a charm on RPCS3. But I'll follow your suggestion.

Keeps happening. I don't know what else to try. i have Windows 11 by the way, but I don't think that could be the issue, right?

EDIT: well, somehow, it worked now. I guess it's a hit and miss matter.

I forgot to explain what happened, in case it happens to somebody else.
Thing is, after the "opening.pam Valid" message, turns out the patch opens another window which does not pop up, you have to manually select it from the desk bar, so you can continue the installation.
It worked, but the patch only translated the cinematics, the rest of the game is still in Japanese.

Could somebody share with me an already patched copy via DM? I'm really fed up of patching this again and again and again.

You have to clear your emulator cache. That's the only reason the text remains "untranslated".

I would like a Predator game "Kill Team" it takes place in the Jungle of the first movie, your team is sent to hunt the predator, using current tech drones and a trained team. Set traps use strategy to hunt and trap or kill the predator.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Ill stick with my Battlefield. Yea a predator hunting game like that would be cool. Esp if you can be Arnold and say "Get to da choppa"

I went today and looked at a motorcycle someone was selling. I get there and the battery on it was dead, so the guy grabbed a battery charger and hooked it up. He plugged it into the wall, and the motorcycle sparked and started smoking. Come to find out the bike uses a 6 volt battery and the guy had the charger set to 12v. I said sorry to the dude and walked away. I felt bad for him tho.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Sounds like it would be an exciting ride....

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
He ruined it basically. Sad cause it was a decent old bike. It would take more money to rewire the bike than it was worth tho.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
You need the $900 copper coated ones, they are good for at least 10 times cooking before they are in cleanable
