The raw save games are the same, sure.

I meant that, unless I'm missing something, you can't load Saviine, then load a game through Loadiine and have it dump/inject the file through the saviine_server.exe. So my earlier asking for Saviine's output was pointless, they weren't trying to use Saviine to inject so it would tell me nothing useful as to their specific problem.

you are right, you can't use loadiine to inject/extract the save on the console for that game, you need the game disc or eshop version which provides the rights to the save folder on the console.

When you boot a game on WiiU, it gants access to different folders and devices :
SSB grants SD access, network access, etc. and access to /vol/ (which is a symbolic link containing : disc or eshop SSB game files, latest update for SSB, save path for SSB, DLC for SSB).

When you launch a game from loadiine, the WiiU still think you use SSB, not the real game, and redirect "vol/save/ path" to the SSB one, you will only have access to SSB savegame folder, not the real game's savegame path on the WiiU.
Trying to backup/restore savegame while inside loadiine will only result in backing up SSB savegame and overwriting SSB savegame.

Without IOS hack, there's currently no way to access the real savegame folder on the console.

Sorry if it's too technical for end users.

I personally haven't had a problem with the editor. Make sure that you don't manually edit your APP.BIN before using the editor, just dump it and use it.

EXP is a lot harder to mess with than Ruppees when manipulating RAM. I don't recall seeing an official EXP code for TCPGecko, unless you're referring to the super contrived one that someone posted. I think getting Saviine and using the editor that was posted earlier on your APP.BIN would be MUCH easier than what you're trying to do right now. That, or just get Link to 255 regularly and then use infinite ruppees to level everyone else up.

I'm assuming you're talking about the dojo level up I helped find? I wouldn't really use the word "contrived", but rather it was thought outside the box. People wanted a way to just modify the level itself rather than think about modifying the way to gain levels. But that's besides the point. It's not so difficult to find once you know the method.

Simply search the 35000000-3FFFFFFF range for the character level while having the training dojo open up (ex. your first character is 100, so search for the 32-bit value of 00000064), then keep changing the value until you get one result, which should happen by either rotating through characters or using the level up function one level at a time. Take that address and add 70 to it to find the new address with a value that should equal your current selected character level - 1. Change this address value to 000000FE and then once you go back to the game you can hit a to confirm the level up to 255 if you have the ruppees, otherwise hit down until you can afford the level up, and just repeat poking that address until you have the ruppees to afford 255.

As for why adding 70 to the address, that was just me looking through tcpgecko when messing with the current level and spotting it change whenever I tried to change the current level. Changing just the current level with that first address doesn't stick once you leave the training dojo.

The 3DS version got new character DLC today. Does this apply for the Wii U version too or no (it was never said in the Direct?) I dont want to take down my defenses for nothing.

If it is I can start working on finding weapon values.

Yup. Just installed. New character (Toon Zelda) and new weapon for Toon Link. Worked fine. Changed DNS to install and then changed back afterward. Would love to know if there are new TCP Gecko cheats.

I'm usually the one that updates the codes to the latest version, not all of them but most.

I find it really odd they neglected mentioning the update for the Wii U version (I understand it was a 3DS specific Direct but it wouldn't have killed them to say something.)

Its been a few months since I ran homebrew on my Wii U and since then I've installed Windows 10 on my PC, scrapping away my self hosting setup for launching homebrew on Wii U. If anyone can help me out with configuration via PM I can get started on finding the value for these codes.

I-I really don't have any idea on how to use this codes for weapon editing so I just use this page, but it hasn't been updated with the new weapons yet...

Not trying to put pressure or sound rude but, will the site get an update soon?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.

    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
