Hi!
Last month I bricked my 3ds, but I saw this new method

When I try to power it, nothing happens, no led, no blue screen, just nothing happens...
Can I try this method?
should I try to lauch 3ds with my acekard 2i (with previous installation)?

You need another System that has Custom Firmware on it to create NTRboot Flash File to use on target system, the one that is bricked right now.

Either the 3DS's battery has run out, or your 3DS system has an MCU brick (which can happen when closing the lid on a New 3DS while on firmware older than 9.0, during the days of installing A9LH).

If you were unfortunate enough to cause an MCU brick, then NTRBootHax is not going to help you, since the system can't even power on. An MCU brick is when the System-on-Chip has been damaged by too high voltages. When that happens, there's nothing you can do to fix the 3DS system. But you can take off the NAND chip, so that the data can be extracted through a hard mod.

What about a 3DS that had a wrong firmware flashed? Can I recover it using this method?

okay, I had this happen to my n3DS XL sometime ago, and I was wondering using the NTRBoot will be a cheep and/or more continent way to unbricking my system or do I need to hardmod it?

It should work for any software bricks (i.e. when the hardware isn't fucked), so yeah, probably. You just need a supported flashcart and a way to flash it.

this is the news I wanted to hear. I'll see if someone has all this and get right on it. I use my hacked n3DS to stream and i've been having kiniption fits not streaming and not playing Monster Hunter with the boys.

So https://3ds.guide/9.2.0-ctrtransfer.html

Because AFAIK, I know I can use ntrboot to load up Decrypt9.firm and do the necessary actions but not too sure what files to use
I just told you Lol. The one for your console/region as they must match. You can do the 9.2 transfer or you can google 3DOWN and use one of the public CTRNAND transfers there. It doesn't really matter which firmware you choose, unless you want a specific one.

Oh. Now i get what you mean. I always gotten the ctrtransfer and ctrnand mixed up. Thanks for clarifying!

My O3DS got bricked by turning it off right when I began the downgrade as I had to go to school. What type is this? The LED comes on but it's just a black screen.

software . . . the two types of brick you cant fix this way are hardware (ex you dropped the system and it never turned on again) and mcu . . . mcu is not common and only happens when homebrew incorrectly messes with the notification lights or closing the lid on a n3ds while it has o3ds firmware installed

in conclusion just try it it will likely work for you
if it does not then you already had a unrecoverable mcu brick so you cant possibly make it any worse . . . go for it

Ah I see, then it's just a software brick. So what you'll need to do is use GodMode9 via the NTRBootHax exploit and restore a NAND backup.

If you really had a MCU brick, then the LED light wouldn't have come on at all, in fact the 3DS wouldn't be able to power on at all.

they need to have a strong line up on the launch titles too. I think they should move metroid prime 4 to the next console because by now it has been quite a while and there's no release date scheduled yet

  • realtimesave @ realtimesave:
well as far as metroid prime 4 is concerned, the next system probably is similar enough to the current gen they can probably easily just slap it onto a next gen cart and call it good :P
