I wonder if n2dsxl will have a revision to fix this and a9lh. I'm guessing they fix a9lh, but they probably didn't get sighax info soon enough to include it in the revision.
I'm going to put my guess down now that a9lh will be broken on n2dsxl but b9s will still work perfectly, maybe requiring a few tweaks.

Yep, or apparently any DS flash cart that can direct boot a ds rom (i.e. automatically boot the last rom loaded).

meh. Downgrading used to be scary, but now it's been refined and VERY rarely gives a full brick. Most i've had is frakenfirmware.

I'd recommend just not using derek's installer, but no. You'd want to use boot9strap as the target_firm.bin, I believe.

Hello! New to gbatemp and I was having some issues with this so my friend said to ask here! So, I'm on section 2 and have all the proper files on your sd card, yet when I do what it tells me to, nothing happens, pressing the start button while turning it on just loads me to the regular 3ds home menu, it doesn't load into LUMA or anything. Thank you for the help!!

It's all well and good if our sighax devs are content with hobbyist tinkerers, but if they were hoping for a career using these skills, they may have just made themselves unemployable.

It's unlikely they will be any time soon, @d0k3's focus seems to be on GodeMode9 almost exclusively these days.

Boot9Strap loads firm from sd card. Sighax loads firm from NAND. Its looking like community standard will be Boot9Strap due to 3ds.guide using it.

When doing Sighax installation it installs the firm file to the NAND.

Boot9Strap loads firm from sd card. Sighax loads firm from NAND. Its looking like community standard will be Boot9Strap due to 3ds.guide using it.

So basically, one's just A9LH, the other one's A9LH for nand.

I'll probably just wait until the whole community decides what is best.

both are the same exploit, but just different implementations.
At this point boot9strap is the way to go as it has everything ready to go for it including luma and 3ds.guide

The main differneces as stated above are that boot9strap still loads from SD/CTRNAND while sighax actually installs to NAND.
