Now that my Wii is back to normal with Ohneschwanzenegger, I'm now wondering if it would be best to start fresh when it comes to modding this machine. This used to be working with mods from the early days of modding from my father, and it started having weird issues for when I was trying to update the mods with whatever it is nowadays. Maybe re modding the system and making a NAND backup might work? What do you guys think?

Should I leave it as it is with no mods or re mod it? I really really wished that it doesn't have problems again

Tried going to the Mii Maker again to see if I can reproduce the same issue from before, and... Yep, same issue. 100% a hardware problem. Oof...

Voltage regulators on the Wii are known for failing.
Considering the age NAND chips are potentially degrading. You could try EnuNAND.

Capacitors can be problematic on any old device.

Whoever came up with the name of this Wii NAND image building tool deserves a special place in hell. I cringe each time it is mentioned.
If it appears that I'm more distant, it's because I am. I'm seriously considering leaving GBAtemp for good.

Guys, it's been a wild ride. For the past seven years, you've all helped me out with my issues, ridiculed me, spammed my profile, and gave me memories that haunt me to this day. For all that, I thank you. I'll treasure these years forever.

I'm not sure if I'm saying goodbye, so just know that if you don't hear from me for a couple months, I've walked away from the Temp. God bless you guys. 💖

I seriously don't get my White Wii Situation. I've used the tool that makes me "factory reset" my system previously when it was having its problems to get it to stock and when it's in stock, it feels like it's in stock. But when I tried re-modding it, I gotten the same issues as last time. Wii Settings crashing the system, 90% chance to turn on the system only for a crash, priiloader, HBC, and other homebrew apps work, but even after installing a new system menu the system still doesn't like to work the main system menu

it's getting to a point where I'm just going to keep it stock and not have to worry about modding this system again. It's unfortunate this is the only working original Wii (with GameCube support) that I have, but I don't know how to make this issue when it has the above to not happen again when re-modding the system

I don't assume you have a NAND backup lying anywhere

I have a NAND backup for this system. restoring it doesn't fix the issues however

On the note of handhelds though, I did just buy the Konkr Advance. Will probably do a review for it when it arrives, looks rad.

I'll buy it for $20 when it starts collecting dust.
Happy because I learned that my GC's old Gameboy Player and disc both work :D

Oh wow didn't know that you could boot mini dvds. GC is the only one of my consoles I haven't modded yet cuz since my Wii can already play GC games, but it has been on my todo list. My disc isn't in great condition, so I should probably go through with the mod, especially now that I learned about GBI

The GameCube is absolutely worth modding. Nowadays, the preferred method is PicoLoader, it requires no soldering and doesn't take months to pre-order and ship (cough cough FlippyDrive). Modding also enables you to use a compatible ethernet adaptor to replace the rare Broadband Adaptor, use a GCVideo-DVI-based adaptor for crystal clear video (DOL-001 only), use widescreen cheats, romhacks, and so much more!

Also, just to emphasise what a difference DVI-based video adaptors make, it does what mods like Wii Dual do (also GCVideo-based), but with no hard modding whatsoever.
