Zelda Wind Waker HD randomizer released

Just a few weeks after the launch of Skyward Sword HD's randomizer, Zelda fans can one again rejoice as a new way to play the popular Wii U remaster Wind Waker HD has been released. Much like Skyward Sword, Wind Waker has long had a popular randomizer for its original release, but this marks the first time players have been able to enjoy the enhanced graphics and tweaks of the remaster in a fully random way.

For those unaware, randomizers take the familiar landscape of a game and shuffle obtainable items to create entirely unique playthroughs that can provide interesting and new challenges. Many of the available settings here will be familiar to users of the original Wind Waker randomizer, with the app itself being incredibly easy to navigate and use. On top of being able to pick what you want to shuffle, you can also customise your player model's colours right out of the box.

To keep track of your progress and tell you what is available with the items you currently have, the randomizer also features a tracker built-in. Again based on the popular web-based tracker for the original game, it will auto-save, allowing you to work through the game at your own pace. For those playing on console, you're also able to re-randomize the game without needing to remove your SD card thanks to the bundled homebrew app.

This project was made possible thanks to the efforts of SuperDude88, with help from csunday95 and gymnast86 and the bugfixing assistance of the ForTheUsers developers. If you're interested in checking out the randomizer, you can find its GitHub page linked below:

Did you use the "Remove Swords" option? Usually the fully powered up Master Sword is a requirement, and getting to the end of the game without finding any swords does seem a bit odd.

Either way sounds like a fun seed!
I did use the remove swords option. I was expecting to have found a sword somewhere along the way, but I just didn't. In its stead I used the hammer and I have to say that it was incredibly fun honestly. I've 100%ed every dungeon and have gotten all but 3 or so of the treasure map chests so I really should've gotten at least one sword by now. I almost have two full rows of hearts as well.

I know that usually you have to break the barrier with the master sword, but it was already broken when I got there, letting me access Ganon's tower.

Remove Swords is not the same as Swordless Start, it removes swords entirely from the game and makes Phantom Ganon able to take damage from the hammer, so that does explain your experiences. It sounds like great fun though, Wind Waker is one I don't come back to enough so that might be a nice way to spice it up.
