While others were discussing breadcrumbs i actually tested v32, aka 1.1.0.
Set Wii U resolution to 720p and let your screen/TV handle the upscaling.
Framerates are now markedly improved. Yes, even Kakariko.
I believe the foliage density and draw distances may however have been lowered, but do not quote me on this.

Use Wii U Usb Helper.
Good, glad to hear it got fixed

so, just to make sure, v33 is the latest? it looks like its the same size as the one from before...
When given the choice to select updates, only chose v33.

Fixed is a big word.
I would go with "markedly improved".
Also, i said over and over this would happen.
How foolish do the apologists look now who said "This is as good as the Wii U can do!!!".
I knew it wasn't and so should they.
As i suspected 1.0.0 was never intended to be the actual version people play on release and after RTM they kept working on it.

Given the hardware limitations of the Wii U, I can excuse some dropped frames in certain populated areas. But man... sometimes it just all-out FREEZES for about 5 seconds at a time, especially during battle sequences. One time it froze for so long, that I thought something was wrong with the console and I was about to do a hard shutdown. Will try the newest update later, and will set the res to 720p and see if that makes any difference.

So it has been improved uh? Nice to know! I'll happily grab the update data tonight and test to see how it changed :)

Also if I'm lucky, I will buy the US version tomorrow (I did not preorder, so it may not be in stock).

Yes, it most definitely has.
You can still notice a framedrop just when entering the village, but is far less severe than before and only the center of kakariko seems affected at all.
I couldn't do a thorough test, because i needed to get ready for work, but the outlying regions around the shops no longer seem affected at all.
Only weather effects seem to impact that, but not that noticeably.
I'd love to hear from people who could test combat and see how it behaves now, since i had no time to test this myself.

EDIT: I would go as far as to call it "playable" now and i am honestly glad i waited for the patch.

I have a lot of several frames drops, even with the update, someone with my problem?
yes, all of us. we are not playing on PC, so you can expect all other players to have the same performance. I am currently in hateno and of course: it stutters when you turn camera quickly in villages. I do not know the exact framerate, but it is way below 20!

Oh man. Got 10s freeze in-battle. I though my Wii U overheated but it was due to quad mob slash >.>

I'm still playing with v16 update because I'm too lazy to update.
Okay, I'm about to update, just making sure you weren't using the new update and it somehow made it laggier.

To anyone who has installed the new update, do you have to delete the old one first? Or can you install update v33 over v16?

I tried out Breath of the Wild on the Wii U now and something seems really off about it.
The textures are extremely blurry and the Aliasing is horrible.
What is going on here?

I can tell you exactly what happened. Nintendo realized that the Wii U isn't selling. Focused all development on the Switch version and probably thought its a Zelda game people will buy the new console just for that game. Screw the Wii U players.

No, that was not it.
We were in fact playing a version that was not intended for release-day.
We played the RTM-version.
An unfinished version they shipped out for mastering due to time-constaints quite a while ago.
Ever since then they had been working on the release-day patch 1.1.0 which is now available and makes the game more playable.
At least as far as i was able to ascertain.

Your argument is partly correct however. Developing on two platforms simultaneously obviously took them longer and the game received less polish.
This however does not just affect the Wii U version, but the Switch version as well.
If you were correct, then the Switch version would be vastly superior, which it is not.
