Seemingly having hit the point in life where age, machines and other such things as well the general departure of the almost impossible to die part of life are taking their toll on my list of associates it seems funerals are a regular occurence.
I do have to wonder though- every funeral I have been to (or at least the bunfight afterwards or pre death party*) has involved at least some some booze and food regardless of their age at death, outlook on life, religion in life/sanity, [continue list as appropriate] and usually a copious amount of it.
*several people were given the "six months until you or your faculties go" notice allowing such a thing to be planned.
For what it is worth I think my, for want of a better term, mindset when dealing with these sorts of things is "funerals are for the living".
