Homebrew "You need to update this software before you can launch it" Flipnote Studio 3D

A while ago, I installed Flipnote Studio 3D through Freeshop and just today I got the error said above.

I tried searching up solutions, but nothing really helpful or anything I could understand popped up.

I'm a noob, so can anyone explain what I can do in idiot's words?

I use an old 3DS with CFW.

If you are US or EU youre out of luck for now... They patched the flipnote exploit but I guess they forgot to send the update to US and EU :/

No no no. I mean, I wanna play the actual game lol.

I had this problem yesterday, worked around it like this
- Launch eShop
- Go to settings/other
- Re-downloadable titles
- Past downloaded tiles (or something like that)

Seems that's the only way to do it legit at the moment

The problem is is that there is no way to update just straight from launching the software like usual (i.e. "press A to update"), you have to jump through a few hoops to get to the update. I think Nintendo have overlooked this, presumably because the app wasn't ever really properly released on the eShop as far as I'm aware

You have to update the app very awkwardly though past downloaded titles on the eShop

Nintendo basically setup an obtuse method of updating it that requires you to go through the eShop. This was setup to not only make you have to use the eShop, but also makes you update your OFW as well.
