Hacking Yoshi's Island DS

I have an EZ4, not lite, just the big gba cart sized one that uses mini sd, and i cannot get yoshi's island ds to work...
i get white screens every time
i have the 1.72 kernel, and i've been using the newest client with an updated rom list but i cannot get it to load...
if someone has gotten this to run i'd really like to know!
