Homebrew Yellow bottom screen...

Hello,

I installed TheHomebrewLauncher on my 11.6.0.39-E O3ds yesterday (oothax, with my powersave) and i have a problem : everytime i launch an app, in 90% of the cases, the bottom screen turn yellow and the top screen stay black...Big problem since i installed THL to use Snes9x for earthbound but the yellow screen is not letting me play >

I've heard that it could be a ram memory problem...

Also, i am not running on CFW (and i don't want to)

That is basically normal now. 11.6 homebrew entrypoints have become very buggy. As such you are going to encounter the yellow screen a lot. Having CFW will remove of that but that is something you would need to think of and go through with yourself as you dont want to at this time.

The files won't do anything bad (unsure what you mean there) as long as you follow the guide properly and dont cut corners.
As for bans, just disable "Send system info to Nintendo" and disable showing current game on friends list and you won't be banned.
Source: I've had CFW for years on the same NNID and never been banned.

Well i will not install CFW because i fear too much a Brick, but is there a way to install only Legit Cia files using fbi on 11.6 without cfw ? When i launch fbi i just have a Kernel Backdoor error, but i just want to install legit Cia games. Is there anything to do ?

Something that should be said is that cfw has no risks what'soever. The modern way of installing it is 100 percent safe and no bricks have been recorded. That being said you have 2 options:

1. Buy a nds flashcart. This is by far the easiest method, and can cost roughly around $20. If you have no method of paying online, I would recommend purchasing a prepaid Visa card from a local store and using that to pay.

2. Using seedminer is by far the more difficult option, and only costs around $2 if you don't already own a compatible dsiware game. It involves friending somebody online who already has cfw (such as myself) and then sending you a friendcodeseed. Then, you use a python script to bruteforce a key out of it. You then use that to inject some hacked data into the dsiware game and from there install cfw.

It's your choice, and there are no completely free options.

Use the seedminer method in the DSiWare section, make sure to read everything and don't skip over any steps.
The seedminer method is 100% safe with zero chance of a brick. It accomplishes this thanks to the 3DS having two FIRM partitions (the FIRM partitions are like the bootloader that loads the rest of the firmware, this is where B9S installs to), when you install CFW only the first partition is changed, even if that install went wrong the second partition would still be intact and working.
Once you have CFW installed you can easily recover from any softbrick.
So you don't need to worry about bricks. And even if you get banned you can easily unban yourself.

Yeah the flashcart is easier but in the time it takes that flashcart to arrive you could have hacked your 3DS 10 times with seedminer...
It's not that hard actually. And you don't even need the help of someone else to do it anymore. Although having someone who has done it before guide you through the process and help you with the trickier parts is helpful.

Don't Mii QR bruteforce. It takes a long time & it's much faster to get your part1 from someone else.

I succeded to use bruteforc, and snes9x now works ! And freeshop and everything ! THANK YOU SO MUCH ! Here is a little something to proof
