Hi, I plan on getting the Xkey sometime this week. I've watched tutorials how to install it, and it looks easy, but have seen other people do it differently than what I would go with. So I have some questions just to make sure I do everything right.

1. Is the SD card strictly for the firmware.bin?
2. I'm a little confused. Do you use the SD card or a USB to update the Xkey? I've seen those 2 files "rootfs" and "ul image" on both the sd card and USB, except that on the USB it had a cfg file.
3. Won't Jungle Flasher tell you what drive you have before you do anything else?
4. Is it possible to use a 250GB Slim HDD on a Phat Xbox for the Xkey installed via Transfer Cable?
5. Is the Xkey compatible with Swivel brand Usb's? Or maybe just all brand Usb's?
6. When you choose target firmware in JF, Do you go to Stock Firmware, or just Firmware?

1. Yes.
Just drag and drop your extracted/converted DVD firmware to the SD card.
2. USB, USB gets plugged into the Xkey and it'll update.
3. Jungleflasher will detect your Drive yes.
4. You could crack open the Slim HDD casing and install it in the phat HDD caddy, hooking it up via transfer cable could would but it's slower then the direct SATA.
5. All brand, however for games I HIGHLY recommend getting a USB HDD.
6. For extracting, none.
Just extract it and leave everything the way it is.
If you need to convert your dump then you'll chose the stock firmware of your DVD drive.

Yea custom is from flashing drives with lt3 and stock is normal Microsoft drive firmware (won't play backups).

You need to read the drive anyway I think. You need to connect the drive to the PC and read the DVD key for the xkey. Cheapest option would be to just flash it as its easy to do and just the cost of discs. Xkey has the bonus of HDD

Yeah, I just tried that out with a benq drive from a Jtag I have. Didn't work. Jesus.....

This is a lot of money I'm putting in for this Xkey. Hope it's worth it. May have to sell my old Jtag.... do you know any good websites where I can sell it?

Why not just flash it and play burned backups? It will only cost the price of sending it to get flashed and burn yourself
