I was looking around for a cheap, effective, and simple modchip for my cube that I am deciding to portabalize. Anyway, I looked around and I don't need all the fancy bells and whistles of the qoob chip and came across xenoGC chip for just $14 with free DVD discs too! That seemed like a deal to me but upon further research I learned read the xenoGC can only run backups and can't run homebrew from the memory card slot via SD gecko!!!! Is this true!?

I hope not; can someone with a xenoGC chip clarify for me before I buy? Thanks.

If you have a older copy of Action Replay and put in that crazy code, you can run homebrew from SD Gecko with SD Load, regardless as to what type of modchip you end up with.

Not 100% sure on XenoGC and native homebrew because its a drivechip..

It can run homebrew form an SD gecko, you just need the SDLoad ISO. The XenoGC is also compatible with GCOS multigame discs..

xenogc is the best and most easy to install chip for the gamecube.

but i wouldnt order it from foundmy.com because they are known for not sending out goods.
maybe thats why they also dont have a contact me webpage?

I'm terrible at being the salesman but I figure I might as well chip in and mention the Viper Extreme as also being a decent GC chip as well. But it would be better in the long run to invest in a case mod where you can use a full size DVD instead of constantly buying the mini DVD which are not that common.

I got one of the duo modchips a few months ago. If the XenoGC is installed in a similar way, its not easy to fit. I couldn't get the solder to stick to the soldering points and also the points were really small.

Thanks for the advice guys. And why not foundmy? Have you had a bad experience with them? I was thinking of ordering from them as they give you 2 free mini DVDs and are the cheapest all around.

I would like to know as well, as I am too interesting in purchasing a Xeno GC...

What does Gamecube Operation System (GCOS) do that's important?

many people hate foundmy and I can't blame them look at the reviews on many of their products more and more people ae simply not getting their merchandise after like a month and foundmy doesn't seem to be giving any reason for it. I just got my Xeno GC yesterday, and bot it from psxbox.net (owned by psxboy.com it's just their modchip selling site), and it came via china post in about a week, and get this: only $11 US with shipping from china to stateside!

If you want a chip with features, invest in a Viper GC Extreme.

Screenshots over USB, AR engine, ISO streaming over USB, Memory card manager...

However, If you want a gamecube that simply boots pirated games, the XenoGC is fine.

Some people hate it, some people like it, I don't know what to do! Foundmy like more secure than psxbox....
