It has been announced that Xenoblade Chronicles, due to release tomorrow across Europe, is facing serious stock shortages. Nintendo of Europe seems to have not expected the great demand for their latest JRPG and so are dealing with both high-street and online retailer shortages.

The online retailer ShopTo.net tweeted earlier; “Due to the unexpected late demand for Xenoblade Chronicles the publisher has experienced great stock shortages of this title.”

Although we do not know how this will affect sales over the weekend, we can expect that Nintendo will deal first with all pre-orders of the game and then place larger orders to fill shelves.

It is unusual that a Wii exclusive JRPG would attract this much attention prior to release. However, it looks as though Xenoblade deserves the attention as it has received glowing reviews across the board, with a current Metacritic score of 92 out of 100. Hopefully it will knock Zumba Fitness off of the top spot the UK Charts once released.

Source.

I guess the American will get their Xenoblade too.

edit:
also twice on amazon france top 5 ordered games (beating BF3

That or that particular retailer didn't order much and place the blame on NoE.

I'll bet its scalpers buying em all up to sell to us Americans at inflated prices.

I bolded it out, it clearly states the publisher (which is Nintendo).
Yes, we know it says that.

But ShopTo could of said that because they didn't order much and is shifting the blame to Nintendo.

Now all this needs to happen for the last story as well. An then nintendo will learn the power of the JRPG and we will have sexy earthbound times, yes.... yes...

I thought the release was tomorrow but i already saw it in stores today :S oh well already pre-ordered my copy

Well, this seems to be good news for the Operation Rainfall people, so congratulations to them.

Now maybe Nintendo will try to avoid underestimating their RPG fanbase next time.

Agreeably, I certainly hope they learned from this: the risk they could've, nay, SHOULD'VE taken has cost them a lot of money. Putting their cash on the 3DS is so far not so worthwhile, but a game like Xenoblade would've certainly brought in big bucks to Nintendo as a whole.

TL;DR Their loss, simple as that.
