How does this work? From what I've gathered, this seems to need a kernel exploit, which was used when this trainer was originally created. It also requires PyGecko, which is essentially TCP Gecko. But it looks like the kernel exploit isn't effective anymore, or at least it works differently now. So, obviously, there's no kexploit10 or kexploit31 available. I haven't found any version of this trainer that works with Tiramisu or Aroma. I know about JGeckoU, but it hardly has any cheats, especially none for XCX.

Does anyone know if it's possible to make this work with Tiramisu? If yes, could you guide me through setting it up? I'm looking to modify a few things to get this trainer running. I'm really keen on playing this game with some cheats.

Edit: So rather than just wait for someone to tell me how to fix this, I am reading through all of this again, and trying to piece it together. So, I finally figured out that kexploit10 and kexploit31 come within the AtLongLast.zip. I got the HaxServer up, but when I try to run the kexploits, I get nothing but errors and statement that kexploit10, kexploit31, or any other payload isn't there or missing, which isn't true it's in the payloads folder.

The error I'm getting is:
Warning, unknown system version: Mozilla/5.0 (Nintendo WiiU) AppleWebKit/536.30 (KHTML, like Gecko) NX/3.0.4.2.13 NintendoBrowser/4.3.2.11274.US
/hax?kexploit31
.\data\hax?kexploit31
java.io.FileNotFoundException: .\data\hax?kexploit31 (The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect)

at com.gudenau.haxserver.HaxClient.run(HaxClient.java:62)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

I ran 31 because I have the disc verion, but I also ran 10, in case my info was wrong.

Which probably means that HaxServer doesn't recognize my system file version and wont work.

Before anyone ask, I am aware this happens with European consoles, but mine is definitely a US console (5.5.6 U)

To assuage this, I created an index.html that links me to the payload folder and tried to open it. Got error messages on the Wii U browser, but at least this time, I got more than just errors:
1706920100247.png

There was someone who was successful with creating an index page to load the payloads back in 2017, I contacted them for their fix, and hopefully they will respond.

This is where I'm at in the process now. I'll keep trying, but honestly, I just don't think kexploit works with Tiramisu, and there is no longer an interest in this game like there used to be. Which is unfortunate, because this is such an underrated game. I guess I can go back to playing it on CEMU, but honestly, there is something about playing on the original hardware that's ineffably fun.

Hey chief,
I am also in a similar boat as you. I am trying to get it to work with Aroma but I'm not sure I'm doing it correctly.

Did you have any luck with Tiramisu?

I'm still new to homebrew (first 3 days) so I'm not sure if I understand everything but I'm also having the same problem.

Its a problem that I don't think many people will be able to solve without really knowing whats inside your sd card.

But assuming that everything in your sd card is correct:

I think theres a chance that you need to port forward (port 80) in order to get it to connect. It would explain why it shows that there is activity with an error not able to find the payload it wants. I thought about the problem for the last 3 days and I realized that all you are doing is creating a server for your wiiu to connect to. And if you know anything about hosting game servers for your friends to connect to, you'll understand that you will need to do the exact same thing.

It may also help to open port 80 in your firewall settings.

I could be entirely wrong here but lmk what happens if you do or don't do. I'll try it myself when I get home from work.

My only problem is that port 80 the port in unencrypted. When you open all inbound and outbound information thru port 80, it is considered p unsafe. Though there will probably not be any problems if you have it open all the time, there is still a chance (my roommate and I are small tech boys and paranoid about our other 2 tech illiterate roommates haha). You can and should always close port 80 on your router when not in use.

Opening the port didnt seem to do anything different. I still get the filenotfoundexception error. However at least we can rule out the port being the problem.

I also tried the loadiine website exploit but that doesn't seem to work for me either, tho im not entirely sure how it works anymore since its changed a lot since people have made tutorial videos from 2017.

I am more and more confidant its a problem within my SD card/ file location but I'm not sure where it would be a problem. From the tutorials the DO exist, it matched up perfectly with what they have. But also, I dont know if the loadiine method works when im loading my game straight from the NAND rather than usb.

Anywho, will update when I find something useful.

After some more digging, I found this thread:
https://gbatemp.net/threads/how-can-i-add-tcpgecko-on-my-wii-u.625636/post-10065347

It seems tcpgecko doesnt work on aroma...

Not entirely sure why but, ill try booting into tiramisu and see what happens.

EDIT:

I can't seem to get it to work even with tiramisu...

I'll have to do more digging but it is certainly becoming more and more annoying while having spent the time and a money for a new sd card.

As always I'll be back with more digging.

Can I ask what exploit you used that ended in failure? Also are you using aroma or something else?
I was running Aroma and it failed until I realised that it doesn't work with Aroma. Now I have Tiramisu installed. The exploit that didn't work was TCPGecko. It's not loading from the Homebrew Launcher.

Normally you launch TCPGecko via the browser
loadiine.ovh
u.wiidb.de

but these are nothing like the older tutorials you see online. The websites have changed. But when I click on the haxx/exloit buttons, they won't restart the system/go into HBL. That was my first issue. I ended up finding another way to launch the HBL which was:
Install Tiramisu,
Boot into Tiramisu with the swapper app on the Homebrew Store
Then start Mii Maker and it'll boot in to.

Now as for loading TCPGecko, the app (TCPGecko) loads into the X/A Button screen with my Wii U IP Address but selecting any causes the Wii U to immediately lock up.
A to try normally
X to try with SD card cheats

This may fix the issue you're having on trying to get into TCPGecko.

Also, I think one issue maybe that we don't have cardloader.bin. I managed to find one online but it's old and may also be a problem.
I also use a JGeckoU updater to pull those files and that didn't work either. Where are you up to?

So, still no way to make this work with Aroma? I lost my 800 hours original save a few weeks ago and after going through the trauma, I decided to download a custom save to use with the game. The problem is there's some stuff that I would really like to change in this save (like character name) and as far as I know this was the only possible way to do it, right?

Well it seems like my first post did not get uploaded as it had links.

I'm not sure if within these 51 pages someone has already posted the steps to get XCXgecko to work on the new Wii U cfws, but i had a lot of trouble getting this to work in 2025 so I'm posting what worked for me.

First XCXgecko relies on TCPgecko and at the time of me posting this, TCPgecko is only compatible with the Tiramisu CFW and i don't think anyone is currently making a port for Aroma. If you are like me you set-up Aroma CFW. You can either look into EnvSwap to try and run both or just start with Tiramisu set-up. (not going to go into detail on how to set-up EnvSwap but you can find it online easily).

Breakdown of what you need:
Wii U hacked with Tiramisu: https://tiramisu.foryour.cafe/
Latest TCPgecko on your SD Card : https://github.com/BullyWiiPlaza/Gecko-U-Updater
PPC-Cheat-Code-Handler: https://github.com/CosmoCortney/PPC-Cheat-Code-Handler
XCXgecko (from the first post)

Steps on PC:
Download and set-up Tiramisu Note: i wont go into detail on setting this up you can follow other guides.
Download and launch Gecko U Updater. This will get the latest version of TCPgecko and copy the files to your SD card.
Download the PPC Cheat Code Handler (use the code button then click download zip) you only need the codehandler.bin file

Once you have downloaded all the files and copied them to your SD card. It should look like this:

wiiu\
-----apps\
----------tcpgecko\
-------------------icon.png
-------------------meta.xml
-------------------tcpgecko.elf
-------------------codehandler.bin

Note: it should also have all the folders for Tiramisu to run (ie. payloads and environment folder etc.)

On the WII U:
Once you have your SD card set-up and running Tiramisu CFW.
Open the Homebrew Launcher (launch the Mii maker App) and look for TCPgecko and load it
In TCPGecko it will display your Wii U IP Address (write it down or make a note of it)
You will also get an option to either press A or X
A to try normally
X to try with SD card cheats

I used X and if it worked you should be brought to the Wii U menu.

Next Launch Xenoblade Chronicles Game and once you see the Main menu you should be able to connect via XCXGecko on your PC.

On your PC:
This is pretty straight forward launch XCXgecko from your PC and update the IP Address field to the the address that displayed in TCPgecko and click the connect button.

Hope this helps anyone and big thanks to @MiMiCAX for creating this and all the other developers.

Also @Green Mii posted this link for other codes you might find useful XCX Custom Code generator

Doesn't work for me either. But I can't seem to get TCPGecko to load. It crashes after I try to select an option. So close :(
@TheDarkAss @BumblebeeCody
Check this post of mine: page 47, Jul 1, 2018. Not sure if that solves the problem. My solution is based on the previous comments. Haxchii and TCPGecko can still be downloaded.

However, for the installation of Haxchii, you need an useless app that will be overwritten to run Haxchii, instead.
In my case I used a DS game that I purchased when the EShop was around. Surely there must be a better alternative than Haxchii. Or there is a different, new way to install and run Haxchii. Haxchii makes it possible to launch the Homebrew Browser. I dont know about other new approaches to try to get the Homebrew Launcher running.

TCPGecko is important since it allows remote memory manipulation which you will need for XCXGecko. I never used Mocka or Caffeine.
