I have an XBOX One X that currently has the correct firmware and GameScript app on it. What is the status on the exploit? Seems like a long time for nothing to be said about it. Is it worth having? Should I purchase another XBoxOne for playing DVD based XBOX360 titles or should I just update it? The series X is just out of my price range. I have a Series S for digital. Just curious if I am holding out for something worthwhile or not.

No one has the answers you're looking for, it's whatevs makes logical sense for you. Do you know (extremely loose estimate) how many actually have the exploit ready to go? Do you know what's Xwine1? Do you know where development stalled, and are you currently utilizing the collateral damage exploit?
In its current state, end-users are limited and you'll ultimately have to decide for yourself if it's worth the wait, and it's value itself for you. You may end up waiting a very long time for nothing...
