Very lengthy guide on XGD3 burning and burn settings. Read it, might help you understand some options you can change, end of post 4 has some fantastic information.

Also, check on the abgx website what wave your game is in (search game name, look at "wave" information in the right column). If it's not XGD3, Kprobe information doesn't matter at all and will never(?) be in an acceptable range. To test how well it burned, verify it with abgx or just try to install the game to your 360s hard drive (or just play it until you run into an issue, if you do). Kprobe testing is only useful for XGD3 games, where burn quality matters in order to pass CIV checks on the disk.
You're probably not gonna get great results until you get your Verbatim disks. If your drive is definitely not a Lite-ON drive (rebranded or not) I don't know if it would even work at all lol, not sure about that. You can also test your disk with Nero DiscSpeed (apparently this is what was previously known as Nero CD-DVD Speed, makes sense enough...) Gives most of the same info as Kprobe, don't think it's restricted to one type of drive or another. One of the final results you'll see is "Nero Score" or something like that, needs to be 90 or above.

DinohScene - do failed CIV checks not flag you? I was always under the impression they do.
Edit - abgx site is down, if you run the ISO through abgx I think one of the first thing it tells you is what wave the game belongs to. Check that then just cancel the ISO scan if you have already patched the ISO.
